Being labelled homophobic is the *beep* way of criticising people who don;t agree with THEIR PERVERTED LIFESTYLE CHOICE.

They make the decision to go 'IN through the OUT Door"

you shouldn't be criticised for disagreeing with something against the order of nature.

I personally agree that homosexuality is not a lifestyle that I could contemplate, I'm not sure I even understand it, but I don't be-grudge those who believe that it is the appropriate lifestyle choice for them.

As far as I'm concerned it's all about freedom of choice. I may not agree with somebody else's choices but I agree that they should have the right to make them within in the bounds of the law that we are all responsible for creating.

In the same way that I agree with your right, Plonky to voice your opinion on whatever subject your choose.

Now I know I'm probably going to draw a bit of heat over this, but It's my right to voice my opinion on this and any topic I choose. That's what makes this country one of the great ones.

Ken, as Rex Mossop would say

"I don't care if you're a p0of I just don't want you to shove it down my throat!"

Whatever they want to do in their own home (not the public toilets) is up to them.

If they want the Anally Injected Death Sentence, then all power to them!

But we are not talking about a "lifestyle choice". It's a genetically predetermined thing. Whether you are straight or *beep* or somewhere in between is not influenced by your upbringing to any significant extent - it's part of who you are from birth and before.

So, just try this for a second - if you lived in a world where 90% were *beep* and you were straight, would you conform to the majority or not. My answer is no way! in fact the idea of going against the majority to be heterosexual is kind of exciting. So , If I had've been born *beep*, then I would have lived that life regardless.

OK, I admit to getting a bit nauseated by people like that pair of idiots on "the block". Mainly because every thing about them seemed to be defined by their sexuality, but also because they were idiots.

I have been enthusiastically heterosexual my whole life and hope to remain so until I die. But I can't let this crap about an "unnatural lifestyle choice" go unchallenged. Gays do not choose to be *beep* anymore than blacks choose to be black. It's a human variant that you are either born with or you aren't (with some degree of variation).

Perhaps it's the intolerance of society at large that leads to the cliques and the flaunting and the "special treatment". But, the day I judge someone by the colour of their skin or their sexual preference or anything else they have no control over is a day I will regret.

All of this does not stop me agreeing with some posts about equal treatment. I am anti PC, affirmative action etc. I believe that, generally, people should be treated on their merits. My ideal world is one in which the minorities are not disadvantaged or artificially advantaged - where being a member of a minority is no excuse for not meeting community standards, but is not, in itself, a disadvantage.

Sorry for the rave-on, but it had to be said.

Zeke,

Thank you for having the courage to say what you feel. It's not easy to stand (figuratively) before a forum of many and varied opinions and challenge the opinions of others.

You're right when you say that sexuality is not a "choice" (as such) and that we are all destined (genetically) to the life we lead sexually.

I believe in moderation and tolerance in all things. Extremism in anything can only lead to tragedy. If we were all tolerant of each other and each other's opinions, it would be a much better world.

It's a really short life people ... can't we live it to it's full, with humility, kindness, understanding and compassion?
