Guys,

A couple of weeks back I had my G6ET tuned by GenTech in Canberra. I am very happy with the outcome.

The car was 100% stock except for a XR8 air box and snorkel fitted at the same time as the tune.

I specifically mentioned I was not after peak power, just good drivability and low boost reliability....

11psi is low boost reliability...

You've only really gained 20rwkw across the rev range you'll be driving it at. Does it feel much different???

I'm not being sarcastic... Just curious....

Yeah, it certainly feels stronger. It seems to suit my driving style. It's around 25kw more in general driving, and feels very torquey, unless you get up it and then it gets nice and strong up top without feeling peaky.

I will either go an exhaust (Defilippo) or cooler next and then pull some more power out of it.

That'd make a fairly significant difference off the line though I assume, good work.

...and better on the fuel as well. More money for bingo :spoton:

The white bowls hat and tissues will fall off the back shelf with that much power ;-)

Seen upto 60kw gain in the mid end with around 30kw peak kw in other tunes

Did you get the engine cutout during full throttle upshifts removed also? With my middle exhaust removed you can really hear the cutout give the engine note a huge cough during full throttle upshifts.

I have more than 40+kw atw more down low than it had stock then it tapers off to 20kw atw

but I asked for mine to come on as strong as it could

difference is mine runs 14psi then levels off to 10-11psi @ max power, everything else same as op car

Yeah, had the cutout taken out. But might have to rethink it as I do too much slow city driving that doesn't feel so good with an abrupt shift under part throttle.....

I had torque reduction removed too

then flashed back to stock, and I miss the spark cut on shifts, it sounds great...

so I decide to go to the tuner and get them to load a new file same tune but torque reduction as per factory

drove around the corner flogged it a few times and flashed back to original power tune with torque reduction removed

cant tell you how crap it was, the spark cut didnt activate even with torque reduction enabled, all torque reduction did was give the car lag when floored, nail it, it goes ok but slow then a second later the power is unleashed.... kind of like lag even though its not..... I was relieved to flash back to how it was.... but I still want the spark cut on shifts, they tell me its the transmission end that has to be modified, as as mentioned all torque reduction was returned to stock in my 2nd file and the car still wont spark cut on changes (only does it when flashed back to stock)

also even tuned I cant build much boost stationary before the throttle cuts, been trying sone 2nd gear launches boosting off the line, and when it lets me my 0-100km/h time is same as taking off in 1st LOL

as you mentioned with gear shift, when I took it to the 1/4 I had trouble in performance with very slow shifts, and also crappy 1-2 shift under very light throttle

no after plenty of driving and thrashing it, it shifts as quick if not quicker than stock, part throttle 1-2 shift is improved, but not seamless like it is 100% stock
