why do the police need fg f6 or hsv holdens anyway besides to waste more tax payers money its really not needed

I can understand the need for better brakes so an fg xr6t with bremos should be the most they waste I think and spend the left over money buying general duties officers better cars or put a few more officers on either option is better than wasting it on cars that arent needed

cheers trev

With all the revenue that is raised from drivers such as you, they deserve some perks, if not better brakes to chase after you for the priveledge.

I saw an undercover G6ET the other day around Sydney. Was dark grey, looked completely normal except the lights in the rear window and the dash mounted stuff they have.

Yep seen it too. Theres a green f6 that gets around woolloomooloo area. Sat behind it on the western distributer few weeks back, it just sat in the left lane keeping an eye on everyone. Saw it again tonight near macquarie street in the city. Saw some sort of Honda on easter weekend, it wasnt a honda jazz but maybe one step up from that it terms of size. It pulled over a p plater, there were 4 coppers inside. But the f6 is highway patrol whereas cars like the hondas are coppers driving around looking for anything sus which seems to be a new strategy in Sydney. Had to give a report at burwood police a few months back and saw cops park out front in a falcon and later in a mazda 6.

I wouldn't worry about FPV or HSV costs mate.

The Govt is making money on every car they use. They buy them free of tax and the BEST wholesale price possible.

I worked for a Not-For-Profit crowd that bought heaps of new Holdens and Fords for its execs. My 2003 VY SV8 was listed at $40,490. The Dealer showed me two prices. The BEST was the Govt price ($29000). That blew me away. The next level discount was around $35,000.

When they sell ex cop cars, you can bet they get more than they paid new.
