Epic bump but I had to post.

Saw two unmarked FG F6's on a freeway near Campbelltown yesterday (I was driving to Melbourne using GPS, don't know the name of the freeway). One was dash, it moved off the median and hid in front of a bridge in a roadworks zone, the other one was octane and had someone pulled over down the road a bit more.

The octane one looked completely normal on the outside besides the usual aerials and 2 lights mounted either side of the rear number plate.

I don't think they are trying to hide them tooooo much.

Quick Google search shows up that they've been using F6's since 2008.

These will be the most battered F6's on the market when they come off duty. I wonder if their compliance tags state that they are an Option 20 (Police pack).

I'd say these ones would be best left in just out of operation specs with all holes, wiring, other modifications left in place just for that talking point factor.

A few truckies have told me about a blue FGT doing the rounds of the M4 of late, but its a bullsh!t one. Some bloke has fitted it out with aerials and lots of lights inside that flash yellow. They say it has personlised plates, such as rohan or royan.

So feel free to give it the bird.

I might be off the beaten track here... but I remember seeing these Royen cars around since the early 80's in one form or another (XC, XF, EA, ect.) usually white in Cobra paint scheme...I believe they are Royan transpot Pilot/Escort vehicles for truck break down and repair service. They used to park on the Hume hwy outside the Ford Complex... I always assumed they guide unfamiliar inter-state drivers to their destination Via two way to under take repairs...

Another great use of taxpayers money.

why do the police need fg f6 or hsv holdens anyway besides to waste more tax payers money its really not needed

I can understand the need for better brakes so an fg xr6t with bremos should be the most they waste I think and spend the left over money buying general duties officers better cars or put a few more officers on either option is better than wasting it on cars that arent needed

cheers trev

I know if I owned a new F6 I would be really pissed off by now, Why? because Ive spent an extra 15 to 20k over a T and when it comes time to sell or even a trade in in a couple of years time Ive got to compete with an excess of used police F6s in the market and you dont need to be very smart to realise when there is an over supply of anything then prices drop dramatically. So far this weekend traveling to Newcastle and to Wollongong Ive counted 6 police F6s
