We've got several unmarked jobbies down here, and man when they switch their emergency lights on they turn into a friggin christmas tree! Lights on the rear parcel shelf, rear indicators flashing alternatively, dashboard lights aplenty, LED light strips either side of the number plates, headlights flashing alternatively, they've even now got LED strips in the rear door quarter windows!

Good thing is they seem to have turned away from Holdens, all running round in XR6T's and XR8's. Couldnt tell you the last time I saw a Commie Pursuit/HWP in the ACT.

I remember reading an article in the Herald Sun that TMU was going to use 'hotted up' cars as well as older models in an effort to blend in with certain 'hoons'. P plates, 20's, shopping lists on the doors, hats worn backwards or stupidly high, seats back stupidly far, the works.

Sucks for people who insist on breaking the law. Sounds like an awesome job to me.

They've done similar up here, now have unmarked cars in a whole variety of makes.

Almost got done by a Golf in an overtaking lane, noticed a few extra aerials mounted on the farker, glanced over through the very dark tinted windows and saw a computer hanging off the dash and a couple of nice chaps with blue shirts on. Slammed the anchors on and pulled back in behind it...could see the bastards laughing at me

Mate of mine got done on the Eastern Freeway in Melb by a Canary Yellow VL turbo.

Bout 3-4 years ago but that's still makes the VL a pretty damn old chaser...

Believe it or not, but I witnessed a Hino FD Ranger Pro 1027 Crewcab with a tray with semi-hidden flashing blue & red LED's pull over someone on the ringroad the other day....looked like a normal truck, otherwise....we were going in the other direction, had to look thrice, too slow to get camera pics though..

I don't believe this. There'd be no way police would be rolling around in cars that are 15-20+ years old. If only for safety reasons, not to mention the fact that a VL turbo wouldn't keep up with a Yaris, let alone anything with a decent donk.
