I do lot of driving for my job and I am happy to say that I have seen three of the turbo XRs floating around, 2 of which in the Sutherland Shire recently. I think they were equipped with the performance brakes but don't quote me. Lets hope to see some more. :D

I saw a Blueprint BA XR on the eastbound lane of the Eastern Freeway (melb) this morning. He had some poor fella on the side of the road. I looked for the turbo badge but could not see it....but I was driving the other way

As for some of you contemplating out runing the High Patrol you should remember this quote "Should the time arise for you to out run us, you may not live long enough to enjoy driving the XR6T."

Drive carfull and take good care of the XR6T on the road.  I'll wave or sound my sirens or flash my blue lights to you in good gesture the next time I see an XR6T on the road.

Alan

Welcome Alan,

Thank you. Already there have been too many incidents where a brand spanking new XR6t or XR8 have been totaled. These cars have great power and with great power comes greater responsibility. I know its been said before but I'd hate to hear that any one of you had been seriously hurt.

I've also said this b4. "It's not how fast you get there, it's how cool you look geting there". :D Let's face it, in any XR/GT, we definatleyhave the upper hand. Damn sweet looking pieces of machinery.

You know what I’d like to be able to do?

Whenever I see some idiot driver on the road up to no good and I mean really up to no good like trying to run people off the road and driving dangerously or throwing cigarette butts and or other things out the window, running red lights a few seconds after the light on my side go green, I’d like to be able to ring a number to dob them in so that they can be given a warning of some kind. I don’t mean to sound like a party pooper but I do I lot of driving and have seen a lot of things in the past. I don’t care about things like burnouts because that’s just damage to their own car but more serious things. Do you Police readers know of a number that I can ring to allow us to do this?

HIGHWAY patrol cars in the Snowy Mountains will soon look like garishly coloured street racing vehicles in a bid to stop them from "disappearing" off the road.

Instead of using white cars which are almost invisible in the winter alpine environment, police have decided to use cars with the brightest paint jobs on the market.

The Monaro local area command has taken delivery of a 2003 Expensive Daewoo Late model camira SS V8 in a colour known as "red hot" and another Expensive Daewoo Late model camira SS V8 in a shade known as "hot house green".

As well, a Ford XR8 V8 has joined its fleet in "acid rush yellow".

The cars are designed to provide extra safety for police so motorists are more easily able to see them.

The regular white police car has been known to "disappear" in the snow, Police Minister John Watkins said.

Mr Watkins said police deliberately sought the brighest paint jobs offered by Expensive Daewoo and Ford. "I know these eye-catching, high-performance vehicles will have people talking about the police presence within the Monaro local area command," Mr Watkins said.

The cars, to be equipped with snow chains and in-house video systems, will be used on a trial basis during 2003.

Operation SnowSafe begins this weekend – the official start of the snow season – and is designed to ensure snowfields visitors take extra care on local roads.

B) Looking good, although I would have thought citric acid is the brightest colour on offer amongst the Fords.

Spotted this morning on my way to work - a broken down VY SS. Best thing about it: it was a Police HWP vehicle, with two officers standing over the engine scratching their heads :D

(sorry plonky, velvet glove etc..., no offense intended  )
