Only saw 3 cops in total on recent Bundanoon Cruise (2 on way up, one on way back). THis in about about 6 hours of driving. I find the more they advertise these sort of blitzes the less cops I actually see out on the road.

Saw three XR6T coppers on the way to the Mt Annan rendevous, none on Trumpy's Magical Mystery Tour and two separate speed traps on the way back via Wollongong.

It's all about timing. I do a lot of runs up and down the Pacific Hwy. Some days the roads are covered with patrol cars and speed traps, other times it's like a ghost town - none to be seen, but you're always waiting for them around the next corner.

The best attitude to have is to drive safely and respect the road conditions. That makes it nice and easy for Plonky, VG & Co. to spot the idiots and pick on them...

There is no time for it over the chrissy break. There a lot of lovely innocent families on the road during this time.

I hate performing that knock on the door to deliver the bad news.

At times like this (heavy traffic) I support the large police presence; at others, like at 6.00am on a normal weekday on the expressway from Canberra to Goulburn I resent their presence, be it real or potential.

Have a safe Christmas.

FOR ALL FORUMERS TRAVELLING ALONG THE PACIFIC HIGHWAY:

about 15KM north of GRAFTON or 20KM South of Maclean there is a little town called Brushgrove.

Now on the highway there is an overtaking lane with a big bushy treeline in the middle.

And in the big bushy treeline there is one of our brothers (XR8 YAY) in Blue.Morning noon and night he's there...Picking up speeders at will...

MORALE OF STORY: Between Ulmarra and Tyndale coming NORTH

or

Tyndale and Ulmarra heading south....stick to the Dollar Five

And have a safe and happy holidays...

Cheers brendan

This morning driving to work I get the siren/light treatment from the men in blue. This was the first in 9 years of driving. I had no idea what the problem was? in fact I pulled over thinking he wanted to pass!

So I pulled over and waited for him to get out which now thinking back he did rather quickly, I noticed via the side mirror the officer gave the car a once over and then I dropped the window and said goodmorning? No reply and his body language (arms crossed) and tone said to me he was not happy and was looking to intimidate.

He then proceeded to ask me if I was the owner of this vehicle and the regular driver to which of course I said yes, he then proceeded to tell me that he has seen me while off duty speeding and overtaking on the left lane?? and that I need to slow down and to consider this my warning or a breach is heading my way??? :innocent:

I found the whole experience rather strange? Now I am not denying the fact that I may have at once stage been speeding?? but I really could not help but feel the only reason he stopped me was because of the car. I am interested to know if anyone else has had such an experience.

that's one downside to a car like this is it attracts the attention of the 5 O.

I'd like to see what these highway patrol guys are like out of work hours. Cause they are :innocent::blink: when they're on the job.

Hopefully BlueXRT you won't have any more encounters of the Blue kind in the future (Except for Blueprint)

Don't worry, Blue... he was just jealous that he doesn't have one of his own..... Im my many encounters with the highway patrol boys (and gals), it was the small minority that were assholes that didnt have any people skills.... most were nice.
