"If this attitude persists in other occupations then lets talk about them as well."

Stop being so thin skinned, there is a topic on Servic Dept. issues everytime there is a thread about police you get on your soap box. What you think all coppers are perfect like yourself???

VG: Why must you hi-jack every thread and make it about you? If you don't like what you see, then don't read it. There is no reason to take everything so personally. Like we said, other occupations talked about too (ie, car dealerships, service departments etc), don't flatter yourslef. Almost every time there is a thread like this you come along and moan...surely you have heard by now, that everybody on this forum does have respect for the police, but sometimes (as in any profession) there is a bad apple. I am sure many people are sick of having to put this little disclaimer in all their threads re: police, in case someone like you come along and starts moaning again!

FACTS:

As far as I know, everyone on here has respect for each other, regardless of who they are or what their occupation is.

Almost every time someone tries to talk about their experiences; you jump in and make a big deal over it.

I never remember reading anybody saying that "coppers are dickheads" but I know what I just read from your post:”

There’s a fair share of dickheads in every job (and a few on this forum it seems)”

Hmmm.

Of course there is a topic on Service Department Issues...after all this is a forum on Cars right ?, and as such, I would expect that.

However, this is not a Police forum, so why should the Police always be the target of snide remarks. I don't see other professions, such as Firies, Ambos or others coming under the same sort of attack.

If you wish to break the law, and get caught, just put up and shut up, or dispute it. Don't whinge (unless you're a POM).

As for VG and also Plonky, again I take my hat of to you two for the job you do in the difficult circumstances of todays society, and having to suffer the abuse that others like to dish out.

Hey I have a lot of respect for Plonky and yourself VG, along with the rest of the Police force with the tough job they have to deal with day in, day out. They have helped us in the past, then again there are bad dealing with them too. (And I'm not talking about red camera or speeding fines). I also respect that there are 2 sides to every story and the fact that a lot of people will bad note the police if they are fined, it's human nature.

However, I was an innocent observer witnessing something that completley blew me away. This 'hoon patrol' incident was the biggest form of highway entraptment I have ever seen. I was on the road at the time and this was happening 3 to 4 card in front of me. (I wasn't a threat as I was driving a small hatch with 86 horses...lol).

It wasn't enough that he picked on this one individual until he lost his cool and did something stupid. The thing that got me was that he was literally trying to force as many drivers as possible into the same scenario and finally succeeded with someone that had finally had enough. Not to mention this course of dangerous driving could have easily led to one hell of an ugly incident being on a busy major road in peak traffic times.

Maybe I should have made an official complaint but realistically, where would it have gotten me? I'm an insignificant little stain in the fabric of humanity that has little say towards the bigger picture. Therefore why bother.

Hey guys, we don't need to be in agreement on the policing issue.

Agree to disagree?

I am however very interested in the intent of this thread - I.e. any info of unmarked police cars (particularly in the Hills District in Sydney).

At the beginning of the thread, a current Ford utility was mentioned for pulling a car over and it had flashing lights. The driver was also wearing dark blue GP style overalls.

Hello!!!! Anyone heard of the Dog Squad.

The Dog Squad (based in a southern Sydney suburb) uses Ford Falcon utilities with a canopy on the back to carry the General Purpose Dog (usually a German Shepherd)

Dog handlers are always out and about and they pull cars over as well.

There is nothing sinister is a Ford ute with canopy, pulling over a motorist.

Heck, I remember when they used to rive around in Escort panel vans and VL Late model camira Station wagons.

The trick is to ask first. Both VG and myself will tell you, and if we don't know we will find out.

Saves going off on tangents!

I have seen the same SS ute doing the same thing on the gateway bridge and on the south east freeway.

VG, Plonky , no comment on the force in general, I respect them etc.....

However, if this unmarked ute policeman ( or policemen .. may be more than one ) endangers lives by tailgating people and deliberately weaving in and out of traffic to incite people to speed up to allow them to pass which I would consider common courtesy, then it becomes dangerous and in my opinion entrapment.

If an isolated incident - no problem, however I saw the process repeated until an offender must have went over the required speed that they wanted. ( I am thankful for my cruise control and patience when it happened to me ) :ermm:

I understand speed cameras and radar units , but to deliberately tailgate someone to make them speed up and move over is going too far. I'm no angel and hate the slow drivers in the right lane, but the difference is that if someone speeds up to move left for me, I smile and thank them for it, not give them a ticket.

I will step off my soap box now. Blessed are the cheesemakers.

Vg & Plonky.

You're copping ( forgive the pun ) a bit on this forum for the actions of others. I would like to take this to another tangent. In the Movie Kindergarten Cop, ( after Arnie belted the child beating father ), the little old lady asked him..."How did it feel ?"

So tell me....when you see an absolute dickhead weaving in and out of traffic, no blinkers, no thought for others, usually engaged on a mobile phone at the same time....it must feel good that you have the power to pull the son of a b**ch over and give him what for.

I know there are many times that I wish I had the power to do just that. I consider myself a fairly safe driver and the odds are that one day I will get caught for speeding without realising it at the time. I just hope that if it ever happens....you catch at least 5 of the above mentioned idiots, for every one of me.

Honest Gaza

PS. Hey VG...if you look anything like your accompanying mugshot on this forum...don't be surprised if I take off in one hell of a hurry.

The thing I used to love :ermm: about vinyl was the center section where the tracks ended.
