Have seen a Unmarked Narooma Blue XR6T with all the police bells 'n whistles and radar gear (I think) concealed in the front.....Probably not doing wonders for the intercooler system but anyway.......Was sitting on the 'inbound' side of Mt Gravatt/Capalaba Rd for quite some time of an afternoon around 5:15pm for at least a couple of weeks. Although, he hasn't been there for a while.

Few 'Cak colour green' SS Commie sedans and utes going around, few WRX'es, Red Magna VR-X...Think they are a part of the 'HOON PATROL', a number of BA's including XR6T's........

I've seen the Red Magna in action on Ipswich Road.....I was in 'Harry' so I was no threat, go the 86 horses....lol. Anyway, The way these guys operate.......Not close to Entrapment at all is it? This Police car was edging on this guy by constantly weaving in and out of traffic and staying on his case for a considerable time. Quite frankly this guy was a danger on the road and this type of behaivor is wrong!!! It would be enough to peave anyone awf...........Anyway, what happens? He gets the sh*tes and takes off, Hoon patrol chases after him, later, I pass the two cars further down the road and low and behold, he's being booked! Most shocking display of police work I have ever seen!!! (This is not BS......I DID see this happen, was a few months back). Every time I see a mobile tax department polaroid or any type of speed trap, I just see red. I'm a responsible driver and rarely do anything stupid. Maybe I should have posted this in the 'speed camera' thread but something I saw this morning triggered this memory from a few months ago to regain throbbing in the back of my mind.

yep happened to me, back a few years ago a cop in an unmarked Expensive Daewoo was just been your typical hoon and pissed me off so I went a bit faster to let him go past, a few seconds later I see a bright flash and think oh sh!t, I just got busted speeding, this cop had a speed cam and took me while driving. I had no idea this was a cop car because it simply didn't look like one. He then flew past me and I saw do the same think to a few others. I never received a ticket though, so I thought it could of just being some idiot trying to be a smart a5s.

A mate of mine lost his liscence for a couple of months about a year ago because a copper came along and sat so far up his ass, he couldn't even tell what sort of car it was. It was in an 80 zone, so he slowed down to let the guy past, but he didn't. So then he sped up, then slowed down again, then finally sped up to about 115 or so and the guy stuck to his ass. Guess when the copper decided to flash his lights....not when my mate was breaking the speed limit once he hit 84kh/h. But instead, a second after he put his foot on the brake to slow down again. He was obviously waiting for my mate to reach as fast as he was prepared to go in order to ping him the hardest.

Incidently, my friend is a BMW nut, and at the time was driving an '89 5 series on his P plates. Wonder if that had anything to do with it? He is not a hoon and that was his first and last ever offence.

Before anybody gets on their high-horse, I don't think this should or is an anti-cop thread because we all know the service they do for society. But, there is absolutely no doubt about it, that some people have a chip on their shoulder, and can abuse the authority entrusted in them. Unfortunately, this can happen across any occupation.

Those of you here in Adelaide, keep an eye out for an unmarked police 4wd. Saw it a couple of weeks ago late one night on a weekend. Had pulled someone over on Anzac Hwy. From memory I think it was a dark blue Landcruiser. Looks like our police are getting smart and not having all their unmarked cars as current model commodores with the black plastic things on the back window. Damn, I was getting really good at spotting them too. :smilielol:

Isnt it funny that no other occupation ever gets mentioned on the forum when it comes to this type of remark.

A lot of this seems to be anecdotal stories from 'mates'. Being a copper for a long while has taught me one thing, there's 2 sides to every story. If people feel so strongly about these things there are 2 things you can do in a democratic society. Plead not guilty or make a complaint to the relevant authority.

I would like to have a $ for every person who has told me how terrible the treatment they received from the Police (usually when they got a ticket) but when you speak to the Police, and sometimes hear the recording of what actually happened, you get a completely different picture.

If this attitude persists in other occupations then lets talk about them as well.

Stop being so thin skinned, there is a topic on Servic Dept. issues everytime there is a thread about police you get on your soap box. What you think all coppers are perfect like yourself???

Valid point VG but lets be honest there are OLP's (Officious Little Pr!cks) in every occupation.

Hell when I was a Commissioning Engineer for a well known boiler making company the DLI inspectors I ran into would make Hitler look like Mother Teresa. But these stories are no where near as interesting as hearing about police officers 'supposedly' abusing their position. Goes with the territory mate.

My next door neighbour retired from the WA Police Dept as a Chief Inspector with 30 odd years in the force and some of the stories he told were priceless, including the ones about some of the cops he had met/known, good and bad.
