cdm Member 886 Member For: 22y 2m 26d Posted 21/08/03 07:03 AM Share Posted 21/08/03 07:03 AM BTW, does anyone else's occupation get sledged on this forum ? I'm not overly sensitive, 15 years on the job has stopped that. But just curious. Build a bridge. I thought we all got over this ages ago.I would love to see some good quality photo's of an XRT highway patrol car, but what I would really love, is to know if they really are just stock standard XRT's?? Appart from all the pretty lights etc, is there any difference in performance? Do the have a different air intake or ECU settings? And do they run 17's or 18's?? Are they manual or SSS? Do they get tinted windows (curious about that one)??

BTW, what do you do for a living ?From what I know the T's at our work are pretty stock. Maybe lowered a touch but that's about it. The big difference is the skill of the driver behind the wheel, as they're only driven by qualified pursuit drivers. If you around the Canberra area keep your eye out. I have seen a couple. One unmarked and one done up with lights/sirens and the standard Police paint job. Aint quite as sweet looking as the red XR8 we have, but very nice nonetheless

Guest 56Mainline Guests Posted 23/08/03 01:24 AM Share Posted 23/08/03 01:24 AM Human nature is to war/dislike/disparage others who are different in some way to ourselves...Different race, religion, gender (male v female), colour (eg Team HgAg), car (eg. Expensive Daewoo Bombadoor), and of course...different vocation/career/job (eg. police, used car salespersons, lawyers, white collar vs blue collar, boss/employer vs employee, & on & on...).Gotta smile though...as I said my brother is ex-general duties cop. He & his other cop mates all have said that they dislike the h/way patrol cops......But I'm not like that......I hate ALL COPS....!!!!! [just kidding officer....no...no... NO...NO...NOOOO.. ARRRGGGGGHHHHH]No really. The police just have a job to do like everyone else. And sometimes it's a hell of alot more threatening than most others jobs. And depending on where they are stationed, it can be life threatening more often than not.The cops 'cop' a hammering from the general motoring public because people get booked for traffic infringements...me included. But hey, you know the road rules/law. You break them, & then get caught, don't winge about it & make excuses! Cop it sweet!I believe the MAJORITY of Australians are very good at stuffing up something, then not taking responsibility for their own actions, then winge about the unfairness of it all, blame someone else/everyone else, and then set about disparaging those who either have to clean-up after their mistakes or are the supervisors and authorities.By the way, I'll not nor ever been a copper. I'm an engineer in an underground coal mine.Anyways, enough seriousness, & I'll get off my soap box...

Well hopefully they will start appearing more as time goes on.
