Basically if you drive them on the street they are street tyres, with the exception of full slicks.

If a police officer pulls you over, he will still see tread on et streets etc.

My Invos are 220 so I'm out, and for the guys running NT05's your out too as they are rated at 200.

Matt, your invos are 260 because they are W rated, all W rated are 260 and Y rated are 220

Bugger I didn't know your's were 220's George!

The whole street tyre thing is based of what the tyre on the car delivered from the factory with so with the Dunnies being rated at 240 that's is where the line must be drawn.

Techinally the tyre should not exceed to 245 in width either!

I look at it as everyday street tyres. What you run every day. Not swap for the track.

True some people run et streets all the time but that car isnt usually a daily.

For me anything other than: full slicks, semi slicks, et streets.

Width open! No stipulation on tread wear as long as not in the above.

Rock up on your low profiles and go.

Matty matty matty, don't know if you would be saying that if you had run a 10 on the test n tune day with your w rated 200 wear NT05's..............

Factory dunshlops have a treadwear of 240 yet 260 treadwear Invos have more grip so whats the point, if a tyre is legal in the eyes of the law to be driven on the street it counts. the new Gt Black has wider tyres than 245.

Stop overcomplicating it and lets see more of you guys at the track !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Didn't have the NT05's on at the last T&T! I had the new Invo's on. I did have the NT05's on that wed night 4 months ago when I had all those gearbox issues and the track was in awesome nik from the nitro camps that were on 3 days earlier.

I'm not trying to overcomplicate it I'm trying to lay down some control / baselines.

I guess an example of this is you've got 2 guys, same cars, same power, same trans, same skill level but one guy runs his factory dunlops and the other runs his 19 x 305's and turns to his mate and says "ha ha got you by half a second, told you you can't drive'

This is why the new 10.5 tyre class at the drags has become such an exciting bracket because they are all limited to a control tyre.

Maybe the topic should be re named to "post your 1/4 time NOT on slicks,MT's,ET's, semi slicks and tyre tread wear rating not under 240!

I'm all for guys driving to and from the track in full street trim and doing awesome times. Hell it's even.more impressive at time watching these guys actually having to pedal the car due to the car overpowering the Tyres.

Keep the banter coming and I'll step back now as I've had my 2 cents.

Off to get some 18 x 330's and run mid 10!

If we use the current title as a baseline then its way less complicating imo.

If someone posts a time on NT05s and its the same as the guy with Invos well the fella with Invos gets a touch more respect, that's how I view things. If the tire has a load rating then post it in here I recon:)
