Around $300. I am going to put an order in for a few to put into the families car for testing. Its really real world testing that will determine whether this battery is any good for a standard everyday family car but for race/drag cars it does the job fine.

Didn't you check his youtube link! LiFE is 2.5kg and the Optima is about 16-17kg

Its 15kg difference in weight.

Re: Group buy, can do but no warranty would be offered as this is largely experimental for long term Automotive use. But for the bloke who builds his own race/drag car and is prepared to fabricate a few brackets I would think its ready to use. To save 10-15kg of weight and even if the battery lasted for 6 months, its cheap. But to say that they are high quality batteries so technically in ideal environment lithiums last a very long time.

Does it have its own low voltage cut out, individual cell balancing, etc?

Does the company do the initial 5 or so charge and discharges to get the most life and peak out of the batteries?

Can they be charged by a normal lead acid charger to?

yes low voltage cutout

yes cell balancing via balance bars. Not by dedicated Battery management system as deemed not necessary

Dont know about this 5 initial charges but I would assume the manufacturer would do this if it helps

Apparently the normal car charger will be OK. I just asked this question to the supplier. I am in the process of bringing in 4 batteries for my own use.
