I'm after some help with installing a subwoofer on my FG XR6. I got the stock sound system. just want to know if its possible to install the subwoofer without having to add a head unit and running it off the stock system. appreciate any help. cheers

yes you can but you need a thing called a line converter, bassically takes the input from you rear speakers and changes it to a sutable signal for an amplifier to use. So you still needa buy the amp and appropriate cabling

aaahhh - as above, yes it can be done.

but - I fear that if you need to ask this, then perhaps you should just rock up at a audio shop and hand them some cash, say this is what I want... Walk out get a feed, and head back in a few hours...

You can install a line out converter, or get an amp with high level inputs. The problem you are going to have is noise caused by ground loops, and therefore you want an amp or LOC with differential balanced inputs and this limits choice and drives up the price accordingly. Not really a DIY job unless you are reasonably skilled with car audio systems, I would suggest hitting up the boys on MEA for some advice, or getting it done professionally.
