hi all my cars an 04 xr6t and I will be chasing the low to mid 300,s I have the oppurtunity to get a zf box for a very good price, the donor car had a engine bay fire so I have no loom or ecu to use and dont want to strip my car and go to the extent of a full loom ect conversion.I have seen aftermarket stand alone auto ecu,s along the lines of a microtech ect but just for the auto, roughly about $1100 australian to get one here has anyone any experiance with these,I was thinking than I may just need a manual ecu or a tune for my engine after removing the 4 spd

As far as I know the autos will only run with the correct setup, or else people would have already tried what your attempting to make the zf tunable.

I'ld just spend the money on building your btw or throwing a c4 etc in instead, the zf your gunna need all the wiring that's been burnt, and to get them through ford will cost you your first born.

If you want a zf, just trade/buy a bf.

Will cost a sh*tload less

Fair enough,Ill keep it in mind riki83,im going to do a little more digging on these ecu's as I got a car loan so cant just trade up cars but I could throw a couple of grand at getting one of these ecu's if indeed it would work,I was thinking if this ecu would work with the gearbox being me having to do some work for the fella it would be better than going the c4/turbo400 ect route.now time for me to get burnt the standard box is btw just the prefix or what does it stand for. Thanks fellas

I really have no idea , but this set up might not work on a bf with zf as it's all tied together but in a ba it might be different , if guys can put a 2spd or c4 in a ba that doesn't run off the ecu then a zf with it's own management system may work.

got any links to this zf control system?
