I have a 6 speed manual turbo I love it :) so much better driving experience then an auto..

yes the autos are faster.. but LOL who would want a auto unless on strip?

on a Xr6t they dont have a good clutch, the box is good! but the clutch will start sliping an shortly burn out after 260-280rwk's an again depending on the way you drive,, but if you modding a car you obviosuly are going to give it a little.. so clutch wil be a good upgrade

the Malwood Opton 3 + is probly the best an cheapest upgrade an best driving clutch!

or you can go the Ap twin racing clutch that's in the Fpv's but they are about 3.5k!!

malwood is about 2k I think installed

By how much are the autos faster? is it a noticeable difference on the track compared to street? I would of thought that with manual you can push it that extra bit further?

Yeah hearing about the clutch a fair bit on the manuals, 2k doesnt sound cheap haha but I guess if I got the manual I would justify it once I start modding the car with everything else. The AP twin racing clutch that's in FPVs, say F6, those come standard?

Fords handle like boats if you dont look after em right, lowering suspension, new shocks, camber kits, changing to nolthane bushes all round, sway bar etc. Can tighten the ride a hell of a lot more that what it starts out to be.

Cheers

I went for the ZF because comfort is king

But I kinda wish I had the T56 because I hear its a really good box with plenty of aftermarket support, because I think the Holden's use it as well.

But yeah I tend to agree that if you want zippy handling and fun through corners the Falcons are too big and heavy. But all that can be fixed of course.

I've wondered how a Supra 6-speed would go behind a T. they're strong enough and definitely a better 'box to operate then the old T56...

I had a T56'ed T from new. I had 1 'box replaced under warranty (under 10,000km) and the clutch slipped at 280rwkw.
