Im looking at buying a manual bf mk2 xr6t in the coming months, but I have no idea what to look for when it comes to fords and manuals. I drive a 4 speed auto and am sick to death with it. Ive heard a lot of good things about the T56 box and was thinking of going down that road once I get the T. As im still young to the car game and learning as I go ive got a few things on my mind right now.My questions are, what manual does the xr6 bf have. If I were to go a 6speed manual, would upgrading to a T56 be a good investment early on (and what figures am I looking at) or should I not upgrade the manual and think of other things first in terms of performance. What should I look for generally when it comes to buying manual xr6t?if I cannot find a good manual xr6t and settle on a ZF auto, is converting it to a T56 manual a good decision? is it a costly one, and if so how much would I expect to fork out? one last thing, if I were to convert the cars tranny and am left with the original parts, is selling the original transmission easy? what did u guys (if you did the conversion) do with the old parts. thanks in advance. I would sujest you keep looking for a manual until you find one. I am sure you should be able to find a good manual. good luck and have fun! And if theres no plans to modify its quicker than a ZF on the street too.

Hard to find FGs in manuals, saw one but they were asking 33k for an 08 model. im looking to spend around 20 to 23 tops on a BF. How wrong you are, a zf would chop you off the lights every single timeIn a straight line yes I agree the ZF would be better. Although im looking for a manual over an auto for a lot more fun.one other question, what improvements have people made on their manual gear boxes? im trying to price out and future mods. thanks again for the input guys. Better oil is meant to make a noticeable improvement but I haven't tried hisAlso a short shifter would be good for mates that are useless in manuals that go from 2nd 5000rpm either back to 1st or into 5th.
