I am due for a new set of rubber, was going to go sort it tomorrow. Was going to try Yoko advan's.. anyone have any feedback? I like the idea of the Toyo T1's but was told I'd be lucky to do 15,000 on a set. I do a few K's a year for work

I went through a set of FK452 fairly quickly. For the price they were ok, but seriously not in the same league all round as the F1's. The price reflects this.

I recommend the RT615's for rears. The older 215's were better as a street/track tyre though.

However, their tread wear rating and water clearance properties are too low for this thread's requirement.

R1R's are a semi slick compound ..... I was lucky to get 18,000 km out of my T1R's so I dont think the R1R is quite what I am after considering I travel about 35000 kms a year including towing a ski boat.......

The R1R's are great street/track tyres but with a 140 treadwear rating, they won't last long. The F1's have a treadwear rating of 240 which gives you an indication of how long they last in comparison.

If you are towing, this is another case for the F1's. My 245/40's have a 97 Load rating which is very high.

The 45's have a 100 load rating which is obscenely strong for what is, a low profile performance tyre.

Yeah, I had a set of the advans and they were very very good. I've settled on teh sdrive for slightly longer wear and am happy with them for now... maybe go back to advans if A go over 400.

Cheers,

Chris.

I have the Yoko Advans in 245/35/19. Done 3000k's on them and they are far superior to the SP sport maxx. Stock dunlops had 240 treadwear and the Advans are 180.

I couldn't recommend the Goodyear eagle f1 asymmetrical enough! I'm on my second set now, and didn't even entertain the thought of another tyre when I needed new rubber. As nelsonian101 said, NOTHING comes close.Do yourself a huge favor and get the f1's- won both the MOTOR Magazine and WHEELS Magazine Tyre Test titles. NUF SAID!

yep F1's for me too but I prefer the GS D3's more aggressive tread pattern than asym , almost a semi slick pattern the V's across the tyre are unbroken but still have a nice deep pattern in them so there ok in the wet ,

Just ordered a new set today picked them up for $260 each the benefits of keeping 17 inch rims.

they are certainly no track tyre but a great street tyre .

Cheers ryno.. I am looking at the same size. sounds like they might not last as long but might offer a bit more grip... think I'll give them a shot. Thinking I need to aquire a set of additional rims (prob in 18") and throw some dedicated track tires on there for cicuit and strip.
