All new Fords and Holdens have data logging capability once the crash sensor computer is activated.

So police can already check your cars data logging to see what was happening.

This is only for crashes of course (I believe you need a court order)

Who is going to look way down in the centre console and flick through a number of screens while driving flat out at a circuit?

Not in any way trying to defend the ridiculous idea of having it in a land barge but it's called logging for a reason....you look at the telemetry once you've completed a lap, not whilst driving....

Just pointing out (and everyone is saying the same thing!) that it isn't ONLY in the GRANGE!!!

It pretty clearly states the entire E3 range is getting them unless I'm even worse at reading than I think I am.

Far be it from me to let facts get in the way of the discussion though :spit:

Show me one HSV buyer who won't look at the "oversteer angle" screen while driving... Yes its logs, but in reality, there will be eyes glued to this thing as it shows real time data.

Imagine the warranty process... "the diff is very noisy and clunky" - dealer pulls up the oversteer screen and sees consistant 100 degrees of tyre frying oversteer. Warranty denied. Then the court case about how HSV voided the warranty yet admit their cars can handle track work by fitting a track-logging computer...

I'd read the fine-print before purchasing one. I'd also have to be blind to buy one.. those body kits remind me of Need for Speed Underground..

what a toss.

Is it so you can fire Geives if he drives to fast and tries an unfair dismissal case on you.

Wonder what the law is on the police using your information on it. I mean seriously... trying to cut tenths out in a street car on the track ???
