I like the touch screen, but not the rest of the car, will suit the other HSVs better...

Can't believe more cars don't have this, they all have the data available it's just a mater of displaying it. Hope more manufacturers start doing the same.

Why is this in the Grange? A strecthed out heavy luxo-barge with a v8? What Grange buyer wants to know how much throttle he applied during that last corner?

Shouldnt this be in the clubsport?

Great idea to have this data available but not in a Grange. I've thought Ford should do the same for the FPV and XR models for years. I think the track data is a wank, especially the Mount Panarama circuit. Who gets to do lap times there in a street car.

the new HSV data logging and high-tech electronics are expected to be fitted as standard to all new HSV E3 models, which will be revealed next week. E3 denotes the third generation of HSV's VE-based E-Series range.

Reminds me of the Dell Palm computer that came with the HSV 5000 a few years back. Logged all sorts of crap that you really don't need. Just a gimmick to sell more. Who is seriously going to say "whoa dude, check out that last bend, I got 5 degrees more angle on the exit......sweeeeeeeeet!!!!"

If they were serious about it, it would be a heads-up display that you could actually read while driving. Who is going to look way down in the centre console and flick through a number of screens while driving flat out at a circuit?

I reckon Harold Scruby will be all over this saying it encourages too much fun.

The marketing arm of HSV must be running scared with the release of the new FPV,s. This is a gimmick, but it may work as Australia is a global leader of technology consumption. Now the question that I do pose with this type of data logging revolves around warranty issues. Could HSV dealers download information that would suggest that the vehicle has been used for motorsport applications and that due to this use you have voided your warranty. Further, if the vechicle was involved in a bad accident or fatality could police check data logging to prove that you were exceeding the speed limit etc. Cheers
