Not as much return for hard work like thatIdk Steve....just saw the pics from IJet's silver f6 and his clay bar/polish made it look killer (car was in the shade and looking glossy as f*ck!).But not sure if its the f6 black inserts that make it look so good? But looked real shiny lolYou obviously have the energy and not lazy when it comes to working on your car...unlike me But definitely research first regarding buffers..I read one type can stuff up paint real easy...but I think that random orbital you mentioned is super safe? It's never ending! Have been advised fo some exhaust leaks that probably killed the engine mount way too early so gotta get that fixed and a sensor bung welded in at the same time. Also have bits laying around awaiting installation like a new MP3 desk and gauges as seen earlier in the thread. Not finding the energy at the moment though!

Was super f*cking impressed with the place I used, Midland Autoplus. A+++ shop, would use again.I'll reuse my review on Google:Absolute ripper! I happened to find them via a Google search and another review site (WOMO). Already had loads of great reviews there.I was feeling really down about a growing list of things wrong with my car (which is my number one hobby). Autoplus Midland made a great impression from the get go and never faltered. Great customer service from reception and the mechanic I dealt with (Chris). Friendly, professional and intelligent. Dropped the car off and gave them the list of things that were wrong. Agreed to leave it there for four days. Got a call back that afternoon confirming work to be done after the initial inspection which was such a nice change from having to chase up shops. They picked up some things that I'd forgotten to mention as well and sorted them out for me after first confirming I wanted to get it fixed. Saved me money on parts where possible to still give an A+ result.Collected the car and had an excellent discussion with Chris about the car and what they fixed, and he praised the preventative work I'd already done. Really knows his stuff and was on the money with things I'd even forgotten to ask him to do, specific fluids to use etc.I can see why they have such great reviews, I'm certainly going to be a return customer. Thanks to all the team down there for giving me back the joy I've been missing in my car!Itemised invoice FTW Interesting that the lower ball joints needed to be oversize to fit snug. Might need some new lower arms eventually from all the pressing in and out.I've gotten away without a camber kit for this long but I'll chat to WA Suspension about it when I'm in there next and see if they think it will be worth it either performance or tyre longevity wise.Dead parts, only some of which I can identify. I think the two German grenade looking things near the top are the old ball joints? Dunno about the cross thing to the left. Otherwise top to bottom I recognise the side bushes from the diff, biggest item I guess is the coupling at the gearbox end of the tailshaft, then the centre coupling of the tailshaft, and finally the filler neck to petrol tank joiner hose. One major thing I'm glad to have had done while the diff/rear was out is a replacement fuel tank. Mine's had a leak when full since I got it. WOT or cornering would spill it out the top and stink the car out among other things. New from Ford they are like $1400 or something so we opted for second hand ($250) sourced by the shop (probably Tony's Wreckers nearby).Old tank, viewed sort of from the angle you'd see it when filling up Note the moisture, they thought it was from around the filler neck here Until they pulled it out and found the true problem. This round plastic join was cracked and letting it all flow out over everything else. Impossible to see until it was out So a couple things left to do (timing cover leak, fit new tyres, diff courtesy inspection, fix exhaust leak and add bung for AFR sensor, fit replacement new engine mount and experimental heat shielding), but it's amazing how much better I feel about driving it. The tailshaft couplings being so flogged out were imparting loads of slack in the driveline, lots of clunks getting on and off the gas. Have only driven it 20 minutes to get home so looking forward to the drive at work tomorrow! Also pleased that they asked me to come back in 2 weeks to get it up on the hoist and inspected as part of the service already done. Also will show me more of the work that was done under the car that I'm not familiar with which I get a kick out of.Oh and the bloke that I dealt with (Chris Notte) is a bit of a karting and BMW racing lover it seems!Hahaha. Also received a couple other items today in the post which I'm looking forward to fitting, just minor cosmetics really but worth it for the overall look... Cheap!!!! The online reviews were right about that too.One of the few places that itemise an invoice too I reckon.
