Cheers Arron! Feels good to be driving again, except for the wicked bang into gear as mentioned. Here's the piccies! I think I can see the missing bolt he mentioned. Trust Ford to make eleventy billion changes mid production...meh.

Sweet!

Think the missing bolt is visible here, on the left

Driving it home I tried to change gears heaps, like in the constant 80 zone going from 4th to 5th to 4th every few seconds for example. That particular sequence I felt smooth up nicely. Shifts out of third are a bit hectic at the moment, reminds me of the feeling of Grug's tuned ZF a couple years ago but worse!

Interesting Mr Turboboink that you say it will never be as smooth as stock, I'm still on factory ZF tune so fingers crossed it gets back to 95% or so. I'd be happy with 80% smoothness as it is 20% stronger now and that means burrrnnnnoutttssss hahaha. For warming up tyres at the plex.

Yeah Simon advised if I'm not after more power it would be fine to leave it stock. Prior to that anyway I was not convinced on the need for a tune if it robbed the car of pleasant smooth changes. Especially since I drive in manual mode all the time!

I better get down the plex again then! :turboboink:

Also no zf tune because it costs money and this was not a "planned maintenance window" shall we say.

Sounds like someone is under the thumb just like me.

Well at least the cat is out of the hat.

The misses is now aware of the planned mods before the end of the year.

:P

Good to hear that all is sorted now Steve. I watched your youtube clip like 5 times as I still couldn't believe that you were racing a F6 and kept the lead.

Good stuff.

You mean the HSV right? He was the only car I "lost" to, the others were like 12.5 to 14 second I think. Didn't check if it was a GTS or not...not that relevant anyway as it was clearly modified so it's just a question of budget at that point. Plus it's a dog's breakfast at WAW. Never know what you'll run against, in the end it's only against yourself.

If I'm under the thumb then I recommend it to everyone, she puts up with my car obsession with good humor :)

Maybe if she was a bit more hardlined I'd have a fatter bank though!!!

Sucks that it was broke, but good that you got it sorted now Steve. I am in two minds about tuning just for this reason, once you pop you can't stop.

Also as the saying goes: "Happy wife, happy life" :spoton:
