Well I have to keep things interesting somehow :)

Here's a great tip for when you have all the trim off on a 6 year old car. Get the gf to clean it!! Bwaaahaha. PS thanks.

Yeah I wish hey. A grand for the privilege puts it way behind suspension. I'd want a carputer system then too probably seeing as I'm a computer geek. But yeah suspension...hopefully get some shocks and springs, probably Koni/Kings, soon. Put in a late tax return adjustment and waiting on what the full return will be :)

Oh and then I'd have a silver ICC wouldn't I? Would need to paint the brand new DIN shroud!

Fitted upper arms with new ball joints today. Took them out yesterday after showing Ralphie this video...was searching for the source of a knocking sound I've had for 2 weeks...

Headvised this was serious business (wheels folding over are pretty serious). We had previously planned to be fitting new suspension on Saturday so Ralph happened to have various maintenance bits to go in at the same time, luckily upper ball joints were one of them! Suspension isn't here yet though so messing around on the car was off the cards, at least until this. I was left with one option yesterday - to take out the upper arms and get the gf to drive me over to the Bush Doctor so he could press in the newies. That was my Saturday spent. Slow going when you are an IT guy doing your own car work.

So yeah refitted the arms today after much farking around. Would have been so easy to take out/put in the arms if I had coilovers (small springs) but the stock springs block the removal of one of the bolts that hold the arm to the chassis bracket! And you can't put the bolts in from the outsides as the wheel arch is too close. That means dropping the shock and spring, which needs the sway bar link removed first...got there in the end though. Big thanks to Luke for the advice and last minute help.

Was wishing I had some new sway bars and shocks to go in while I was under there, perfect opportunity! After this I'm pretty sure I'm going to fit the new suspension myself when it arrives, I'm a sucker for punishment.

Thanks to Ford for the placement of the bolts!
