Cheers Keith.

Unfortunately the rattle returned a day later! Still yet to get it sorted out, grrrr.

Took her for a little spin this long weekend as I posted over in another thread.

Got the brand new tunes sorted thanks to my old S2 phone as an overpowered iPod...no I didn't leave the cable there on the shifter.

Not much to see on the way there, just lots of road. Couple of dead trees covered with tinnies is about it hahaha.

So we got there in one piece. Yeeeeeeeeeahhh loaded trailers work great as wind brakes....this was after adding another 15L of fuel too, but about 30km shorter than after the fill up as I forgot to reset trip meter :)

gbBn9yB.jpg

Let's say that's 8L of fuel left to make things easier, so +15 used = 75L used over about 400km = 18.75L/100. I used cruise control after the first hour and was letting the car pull up slight hills in 6th by about half way through the trip as I saw the needle dropping. Air con used for about 150km I think. Not tooooo bad. Wasn't as flat as I was expecting but it did the job well of moving a bunch of stuff! Fridge, washer, chest, queen bed plus a bunch of boxes of papery things. Plus the car was chockers with more crap and had 40L of spare 98 with me too in the boot :wild:

Used the CB radios on the drive down in our little convoy which was a big win. Bit of banter to keep the mind active plus helping the missus know when it was safe to overtake the Winnebagos hahaha.

Finally there...so we got to unload it all in to the empty house...weeeeeee. Moving your own junk is bad enough, let alone helping the better half move to a country work posting where you won't see her for weeks at a time!

We took a drive to Esperance while we were down this way. Filling up the Yaris of Fury on the way out, I was SHOCKED to see BP Ultimate on the pump in this little backwater town of 300 people. Still pretty cheap too! Only about 15c/L more than the city I think.

I was so shocked that I accidentally called out that pump number to her when she was at the pre pay machine, hahaha. Yaris got to drink the good stuff for once, plus an impromptu test to see if it fu©ked up her engine from being too old :ninja: (I'm still suss on it and we brought the now empty jerry cans to Esperance to fill with BP Ultimate from there instead)

Off to legendary Esperance.

Pic looks awesome...very cool to see islands off the coast like this

...it was actually really windy so the 250km odd drive (each way) was all for a 5 minute stay on the beach. Spent more time finding food and BP98! Got the Yaris up to some decent speeds overtaking on the way back though, lemme tell ya. Felt quite stable too.

Dinner both nights at the town the missus moved to was really awesome, met the chef who lives 2 doors down from her and he cooks a spot on chip. Told him so too. Had a lovely beef parma on night one and a crumbed chicken burger with optional bacon and egg on night two. 10/10 chips both times, aww yeah. Also, this funny Internet booth in there

Anyway, time to leave this morning and try to catch the Triple J Hottest 100 on the way back. Up before 6am but didn't get out of there until 7:30 or so. Stopped to use a jerry can when I hit Kondinin I think.

Which is when I noticed this....

Now I filled up using a jerry the day before and didn't see it, plus the car didn't go anywhere until the trip home. No farking idea how this happened.

YfXYubs.jpg

The missus says maybe a bird while driving but it starts as a straight line so it looks more like something dragged along the car while it was parked. I think it will forever remain a mystery.

I got out the water and a microfibre I keep in the car for random bits and it mostly buffed out, except for the dent and some scratches you can't see very well against the silver. Dent should pull out OK. Grr.

Anyway, a problem for another day.

Got home OK which is another win, no roos in the radiator etc.

Here's the trip all the way back home (about 21km past the fill up point I measured from on the way there). From the last fuel gauge pic to this I used with using 4x 20L jerries but no other stopovers. Couple of WOT events on the way back still with the trailer attached. Again, cruise control in 6th or 5th (manually shifted of course) for most of it, AC on for about an hour.

I find the actual fuel use is about 1L/100 higher than this readout when I'm in town but this looks like it's gone the other way as I wasn't up at 99.9L/100 very often, unlike my city driving from red lights hahaha. A rough estimate would be 80 - about 25L here unused on top of the remaining fuel from last pic = about 13L/100. Estimations of levels could play a part here though.

Gotta love the mighty Falcon, didn't skip a beat. Now to get that cold start up rattle sorted!

Nah no way it got that far around...I'm thinking more like something rubbed when we were unloading. But that still does not make sense as the car was miles away. And look at that dent!

Still have trailer, maybe I'll swing it around on purpose and see...

edit - trailer would have been up near the fuel cap.

I secretly think the neighbours snuck over while we drove to Esperance and messed with my car, jealous small towners, it's the only explanation hahaha

Will have to wait until after hottest 100 is done. Chet Faker makes me snooze so hopefully we get some Knife Party up in that biatch in the last 7 spots.

Damn you Chet Faker and the lack of any Knife Party in the whole list. Anyway, myth busted!

This is as close as I felt like getting, also CBF with video :)

You guys have weird number plates.
