I would think so mate, as you sit in the front so you want the fronts to sound better.

Those Focls that I bought are meant to be $249 in the Nothfield shop but they are incorrectly labelled at $229 on the website so they honoured that price.

Northfield Car Sound

They still havent changed it so id snap up a pair of these before it gets changed. They in definitely in your budget too.

Did you buy two pair mate or did you just leave the rears stock?

Ahh ok... So if you didn't have the polks already, you probably would have gone with 2 pairs?

Do you know much about the Rockford Fosgate Shallow subs?

I know they're for utes with limited space but I'd love to keep as much boot space as I can so it they sound nearly as good as the normal subs, I'd definitely be interested.

That Alpine one I bought is a shallow mount too and I was led to beleive they do sound as good as a full size.

If you read my thread here from a year ago, I was going to go all Rockford Fosgate. After a chat with the bloke at Northfield, I was convinced to go Alpine and Focal for the heavy style of music that ill be playing through it.

Yeah that's the way to go. What I did was get all the info and model numbers from them and then outsource the parts to save money.

The sub box is proving to be a bit of a issue though. They want $295 for a custom made one thatll mount up flush up against the back of the back seat cause the run-of-the-mill ones would have to sit in the recess above the spare tyre taking up majority of the boot space due to the height of the boxes. Not so much of a prob for me as I hardly use it, but not ideal so am still doing my research on this.

Just got back from the Audio place. He recommended a set of Rockford Fosgate's but that turned out to be way over my budget so we had a listen to Alpines R-Type package deal..... Personally, I reckon it sounded sh|t hot so hopefully I don't hear bad things.

The package is $1499 and contains the following:

- PDX-5 5/3 Channel Amplifier (Can run 4x speakers and sub :))

- SPR-17C Type-R 6.5" Coaxial Speakers

- SPR-17s Type-R 6.5" Component Speakers

- SWR-1223D Type-R 12" Subwoofer

Does anyone know much about this kit?

I'll also most likely be adding the Alpine X305S to the system.

This all brings back memories of when I spent almost 9k on a full Alpine system for my XE. Was set up for sound quality more than doof doof and must say it sounded insane. All this makes me want to do it all again. Goodluck with it all mate.
