There is no V6 coming for the FG, the I6 will live on for as long as the current falcon does. END OF STORY. There will be the addition (that's right - addition, not replacement) of a I4 direct injection turbo to the range when the updated FG comes out. This is when LPI will be added also.Dont think the salesman ever said anything about these changes being related to the FG - reread my post and you will see that I PRESUMED these changes would NOT come under the FG banner.The salesman actually did not sell me the car as such. I had NEVER sat in a Falcon until mid-August, then researched the car I wanted. Being rurally isolated I found the car that met my specs - alas there was only one in QLD - and ordered it over the phone. Had never even driven one, let alone been pushed a sales spiel by a sh*t-sprouting salesman. May surprise you all, even more so that I am a female in a males world of XR6T. bunna Donating Members 813 Member For: 18y 2m 30d Posted 25/09/10 11:49 PM Share Posted 25/09/10 11:49 PM Brodyb you're talking about a topic very close to my heart and my wallet, hence my passionate response!Whilst the future of the falcon is shrouded in mystery (for some) what can be said is that the FG is only 2 years old, there is at least another 4-5 years to play through with this model, and the I6 will stay since Ford has spent megabucks updating it for LPI and so on.So knowing this, I assumed your salesman was playing games with you, since the "demise" of the falcon and the I6 that he described is at least 5 years away (not really cause for panic buying!), whereas the 4 cylinder turbo he also described (sort of correctly) will be on sale next year.Hope that helps clear things up! The collective knowledge from this place (with the expert assistance of a few insiders) has been pissing-off dealers for years...as you'll typically learn more from browsing this forum than what the sales staff would ever know. I can totally understand where you are coming from with the salesman, I have had a keen interest in cars for a long time and even argued with salesman about timing belts so you dont need to tell me what they are like. I should have probably explained myself better in my initial post and said that I did not take his word as gospel and did research. Typical trait of a Virgo, you tell me it is blue I am not going to believe you until I RGB it. Anyway, thanks for the welcome. Looks like the testosterone around here needs to be kept in check every now and then. I have no problem kicking it with the big boys, or kicking the big boys every now and then.
