why try and replicate the wheel spin that occurs on a regular dyno? hence the reason why hub dynos are used

mate I in no way are questioning the way they do their thing they are second to none , just thought at the end of the day they would be trying to give you a reading that relates to what your car puts down at the treads.

all will be answered tomorrow .

I didnt think you were questioning tunehouses methods, I am trying to suggest that there will be no loss/difference between the wheels and at the hub considering the wheels are bolted directly to the hub

yeh mate just a thought I'm often wrong, be interesting to see what the answer is though

but my theory is a say 10 inch hub is going to turn the dyno more times per turn of the diff than an 18 inch wheel wich would need some correction on the readings .

Just because it is bigger doesn't mean it turns slower, one hub rotation is one wheel rotation no matter how big or small

if that's the case why do different wheel sizes affect speedo readings , because they effectivly change the final gear ratio? :dontknow:

no because they affect the rolling diameter meaning for one revolution it will travel further, not how many times it will turn in one revolution on the diff

yeah different outside diameter tyres will alter the readout on roller dynos, no difference on hub dyno's obviously.

While tuning mine we saw alsorts of variations when changing between 17s , 18s and 19s, plus wheel slip ect, smaller tyres read higher as did 3rd gear over 4th gear.
