I bought a BF pursuit hardlid second hand without the hinge for the front.

Ive got the gas struts, the hinges that mount on the lid and the lid itself.

Ford want $812 for the kit (which includes the front hinge) to mount it.

Rang up the reseller for EGR hardlids (who made the lid) and they dont stock the kit anymore.

So either I have to fabricate something (cost a fortune here) or find a second hand one.

Anyone got any leads?

I would ring up EGR and tell them that they should supply parts for such an exspensive item. Depending on which state you live in you may have protection from Consumer Affairs or Fairr Trading. I woud think that this would fall under the "IMPLIED WARRANTY" section.

This Implied Warranty means that a product that is very exspensive has an implication of quality and that any resonable person would expect to get good life out of the product. This would mean that they would have to supply parts, and it would have to be reparable for a certin time.

Being purchased Secondhand may be your downfall though as ou dont have as much right to complain as someone how purchaed a new one.

I dont think that would work, as the parts are still possible to purchase, just through ford, at a price I dont want to pay.

Guess ive got some saving to do.

Call a place in Sydney Called FordPro, they have a huge amount of parts, and if they dont have it, they can probs source it for way cheaper than ford will ever get it for. I got a BA xr8 bonnet for $500, brand new. really good guys, easy to deal with etc.

After a few phone calls last week, finally a hinge showed up today. Cost me $705 delivered from a ford dealership in the ACT. According to the local dealer the only one left. But more are on order. Thank god its the full stainless one.

Sorry, never saw this thread before.

Pretty sure someone is selling the stainless part of a fitting kit on Fordforums.com for about $350.

I had looked on there from time to time but didn't find one, just glade mine isn't the other version.

Anyone got pics of where the struts mount too and a pic of the pin setup that holds the lid to hinge

Finally able to put the lid on the way I want (with stainless hinge) after having the lid since April...

Just gotta sort some locks (got no keys with mine :( ) and buy the part that holds the strut to the tub and its off to the painters,
