RAPHOON Donating Members 1,776 Member For: 21y 7m 23d Posted 19/10/03 12:42 PM Share Posted 19/10/03 12:42 PM I find it amusing that a "motoring journalist" couldn't get used to the switched indicators and wiper controls. Me, a meager computer engineer, had it sussed by the time I drove out of the driveway in a loner Focus last time my car was serviced. We've got one of each in the family & it's relatively easy to get used to. But that's yanks for you....

Posted 20/10/03 03:31 AM Share Posted 20/10/03 03:31 AM Somebody posted a link to that article a couple of months back. One thing that struck me about the article was...QUOTE One place where the Falcon could use more work, however, is in the fit and finish of the interior materials. There were no big problems apparent, just a general lack of sophistication that caused the interior to feel like it is of a lower quality level. If he thought the Falcon interior was of low quality, I'd love to see the sort of quality that he is used to.It's the lack of coloured buttons, multiple redundant controls and shiny baubles to dazzel the eyes he's on about, Yanks love plenty of switches and dials to play with."sophistication" is having three dials to turn on the A/C when one will do.....and why oh why can't Australia just conform and go Left hand drive? We can change back from metric while we're at it.......I think the sss would have had him, it is better, it gives you more time to play with coloured buttons, multiple redundant controls and shiny baubles. Falcon sedan is powered by a turbocharged, twin-cam, inline six-cylinder engine mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. Good for 322 hp @ 5,250 rpm and 332 lb-ft of torque (available from 2,000 to 4,500 rpm), the Falcon is capable of reaching 62 mph from a standstill in a claimed 6.2 seconds. And in the Australian mileage tests it returns 20.5 mpg city/27.7 mpg highway. Impressive numbers for so large and powerful a car.Less fuel used in the city, I don't get that, evrything really is backwards over there! Can someone convert that fuel consumption figure? Miles and gallons is a bit before my time.
