Im just wondering why the fascination especially in Australia for the ute?I know there is work reasons behind having a ute ie carrying things int he back etc.. but why a ute just for everyday driving? I must admit the Pursuit and others look great Interested to know your reasoning behind buying a ute?

At least my ute had a bench seat!Have never really lusted after a ute since - maybe it's a "been there, done that" thing.Must admit though, the modern utes seem a far cry from my old girl and they do give the opportunity to own a very cheap sports vehicle with great load carrying ability and no less human accommodation than a 2 seater sports car.Horses for courses, I reckon.zeke

By getting the ute I avoid FBT as the vehicle is deemed to be 100% work use, which makes it much much cheaper. the other reason is there is plenty of room to put tools, tyres, etc for the race car. Guest Butzy Guests Posted 19/10/03 07:24 AM Share Posted 19/10/03 07:24 AM The reason I love utes so much is because of the way the look. All utes look good and no matter what badge they have on them they all look good, and my favourte ute is problury the old HQ One-Tonner. Gotta love your old utes lol, and the only Ford ute I like is the BA XR8, did I just say that hmmmmm lol. Go the utes.

Specially with the body kits.
