So as you may have seen I have not been able to post up much more info on this project...

The simple reason is because there is none. In the recent month/s my workload has gone

through the roof and I realistically don't have the spare time to complete this to a competitive level

Before superlap next year. To add to that I'm also in the process of buying a house so as you can

Imagine time really isnt on my side. I appreciate all the support I have received over the months in regards

To this project and appologise that I will not be waving the ford flag at superlap next year.

Additionally to this I must also add that the ute is going to be put up for sale.

Should anyone be interested In purchasing it please pm me or respond in the classified add to be added soon

Cheers adam

that's unfortunate mate...

Sounds like you had the makings and all of the right parts and components for a fairly competitive private and unsponsored entry!

Again, its unfortunate that we are all bound be certain limits, whether it be purchasing houses or purely time and money to get things done at times. Would have been nice to see you fly the flag though!

mate I know the ute set up is a bit different to the sedan, but did you think the pedders kit was any good I hated it and felt like my car was unstable to drive, the teins for an extra few hundred are on a totally different level of performance.

another thing I have been noting is a few cars that are struggling to do times they should and they all have pedders coilovers.

to be honest I have never driven on the tiens in a falcon so id be lying if I said they were better of worse. I do know that recently pedders completely redesigned their dampner side of the coilover to help with bottoming so weather that has anything to do with other peoples issues then yeah could explain a bit. honestly the pedders setup was the best mod I ever did to the ute. it changed it from a sloppy commuter to something that could be driven aggressivly and perdictably. if anything it was a killjoy because it was so easy to drive fast that it lost its scaryness if you know what I mean. th main reason I went with the pedders over the tiens was the base height adjustment with out changing the spring rate. suspension is a very simple thing. setup is where the difference is made. I highly doubt any difference in time was made up by the change from pedders to tien could not have been made up by a setup change and some tweaking.

alrighty then... so yesterday purchased a 2m x 1.5m sheet of 2mm ally sheet to start the construction of the undertray.

the new undertray will stretch back from the front bar to the rear of the engine cross member (pics to follow). now construction of the undertray will start after the 17th of this month as that is when I finish up with my current employer and will have plenty of time leading up to the commencement of my new job. also on the go is a completely new turbo configuration from manifold to exhaust. first will be a custom made stainless steam pipe manifold supporting the factory 35r turbo wearing a 1.06 tial stainless vband exhaust housing. the main reason im sticking with the 35r and changing the housing is firstly for response (and also keeping the powerband in the meaty part of the rpm) and secondly im looking to in the future upgrade to the gtx 35r cartridge which will utilise the same comp and exhaust housings and capable of supporting over 400rwkw consistantly on pump fuel. the reason im goin to the tial stainless housing is not just because they look absolute sex but because of the ease of maintainance and fitting. from the turbo back will be a 3"-4" stainless stepper followed by a 4" turbo back exhaust. the gate will remain the current tial 44mm that is fitted, only plumbed in using a stainless flexpipe as opposed to the current screamer arrangement. fabrication of this will commence in the first part of january and once complete the the ute will go in for a complete retune. its funny how this new job and increased spare time has renewed my enthusiasm for this project. I have a whole new perspective for this build and think that with the new level of commitment to developing this ute, should make it really something quite unique. future plans are to fit her up with some new shoes (trying to find some nice wheels in the right offsets to fit 9.5f and 10.5 r rims to her), a hard cover, new airbox, new oil cooler (come on kev from process west, make it happen), a new right hand headlight with the guts removed and die grinded out into a nice ram air for the new airbox, some new brakes (looking ideally for a set of f&r brembos off a pursuit ute (6 piston fronts and the big rears aswell) and some new seats to replace the current spongy unlaterally supportive stock seats that are in there.

that is all for now and look forward to updating this thread with some pics from the initial undertray design and fitting

cheers adam
