I fear anything off the shelf will be far too low for a serious build like this running R tyres. ie. Teins 670lb/in do not cut the mustard, and I dont think that Pedders will be that much. If you get a chance check out the Cyber EVO development videos on you tube. They used the same wind tunnel as the Toyota F1 team did to design the aero kit on their EVO. I was there this year and they sounded incredible. That Tarzan guy is a freak. Very cool and even made time for the fans in the pits too.The Lap record for a V8 ute at Eastern Creek is around the 1min50 mark and they were running control R rated Yoko A048's from memory.To break into the high 40's or even low 50's would be an incredible achievement on R1R's.So no pressure! I think it can been done, I went out last Wednesday and only did one session before I had some minor issues and went home. I did not time any laps however I was had an evo 6 behind me and he was asking me what lap time I do. When I told him 1.53 he said not possible because he did back to back 1.50's while following me... With out a timed lap my PB is still 1.53 but I feel 1.50 on the R1R's is very possible.... The NA v8 utes have a more progressive power delivery post apex and are more effective in this respect, but they are more stock overall than the build in this thread.The Fernandez ford turbo in the pro class this year was good for a flat 1min40, but even with wide dunlop semis, power down was really holding the car back from dropping into the 30's. I think they had to drop the tune back to reduce peak torque as the spinning rears were reducing the lap times.I also agree that the more time spent testing a build like this at the actual Eastern Creek circuit, the better.
