hey guys

my current tune is 350rwkw, but my car is in the shop having a built btr and 3000rpm+ stall put in, so obviously the tread power is going to be down. not sure by how much- 30rwkw sound right?

anyway, not having a hi stalled car before, im not sure what to expect, but am not too keen to lose power at the wheels.

should I get the power wound up at the motor to compensate for the hi stall loss?

or will it be faster anyways with the stall?

im tempted to go 20ish psi- currently 17 but was overboosting ocasionally to 20 in the 1-2 degree mornings in the adelaide hills. when it did was spinning in 3rd gear roll ons! 20's and crap quality tyres though...

hi mate, the stall will cause it to read lower on the dyno but wont mean its slower, if it made 350 rwkw's approx 320-330 will be as quick over 1/4 mile, boost it up to 20psi and it'll be even quicker

as I learnt, you will loose 30-50rwkw depending how loose convertor is and on what dyno etc.

The car will launch better, giving you a better take off and will keep the boost up!

After installing a converter of about 2700 rpm I went from 350rwkw to 369rwkw on slightly less boost (about 1 psi less). I did install new coil packs at the same time and my converter is a modified and upgraded standard converter. I can't say if this was due to just the new coils or that a standard converter is more efficient than some of the after market units or that keeping the stall to 2700rpm also helped not suck power. Needless to say, I am very happy with the converter.

exactly what happened to mine too, I went from a 2500rpm stall to a 3000rpm, fitted new coil packs and went from 322 rwkw's to 350 rwkw's but different tuner and dyno too
