No doubt allot of you have already got a set or seen the Altrex number plate protectors. They are aussie made and come with a two year guarantee from manufacturing defects and a warranted for 20 years to not discolour, crack or craze.

They retail for between $30 & $50 depending on where and what size, and should there be enough interest we’ll be able to offer them with “FordXR6Turbo.com” printed across the bottom for around the $35 mark for a set (2 protectors) delivered to your door.

They’ll be the Altrex Prestige 3000 Number Plate Protector and available in the various combinations of the standard full-size six-digit plate as well as the slimline versions to suit each state.

They are a piece of piss to fit, essentially just push against the plate and close the clips, and can be removed with a small screwdriver. They are also somewhat flexible so will follow the curve of your bumper without any issues.

The blurb:

The Altrex Prestige 3000 Number Plate Protector is specially designed to enhance the look of your car while providing dependable, guaranteed protection. Made from high impact 3mm thick high impact acrylic that withstands the harsh Australian sun. The UV stabilised acrylic protects your number plates from showing signs of wear and ageing. The easy plastic clip fitting keeps your number plate protector secured and looking good. 3.2mm thick foam tape seals and prevents rattling, ensuring your protector is weatherproof. Legal in all states and covered by the Altrex 20 Year Guarantee.

So if this is something that interests you please vote in the poll at the top of the thread to give me an indication of if it’s worth committing to. There are setup costs involved and a minimum order quantity that I need to work around.

The size options are:

6 Figure Standard/Standard - National Size (2 full size protectors)

NSW, SA Slimline/Slimline (2 slimline protectors)

Vic, Tas, NT, WA, Qld Slimline/Slimline (2 slimline protectors)

Qld, ACT Combination Slimline/Standard (one of each size protector)

Pinlines refers to the horizontal pinlines on the protector. If it does proceed we’ll be going with whatever is most popular to minimise the number of different items we’re carrying.

What you select in the poll will be visible but I won’t be holding you to it; however if you would never have any intention of buying a set then please don’t distort the poll.

And if you got any Q’s then fire away...

Hey Trent,

I'm interested. Would need the Combination Slimline/Standard. Not fussed about pinline or not.

Let me know if you go ahead.

Cheers Tony.
