hi, new to this forum so forgive me if I get things wrong lol. however am not new to turbo cars having previously owned a wrx before crossing the dark side and buying a 2005 mk11 xr6 turbo Ute 6 speed. I haven't done much to her yet, I've put 42lb Bosch injectors, herrod intake fuel pump, custom cold air intake, standard zorst with cat removed and center muffler removed and a capa box. my first question is Wat sort of power would I expect ATM will the mods I have and would a larger front mount be worth a go? I know the only things that would be limiting power would be valve springs and wastegate actuator at the moment but don't really wanna fork out for the valve springs. all I'm aiming for is about 270kw at the treads. also where to get tuned? I have heard good reports about Bruce Heinrich Performance but unsure if he can tune capa x1 boxes if someone can clarify?. I'm from pt pirie and I know that lmg performance have had a little success tuning turb falcons out warnertown (10 mins from port pirie) but haven't heard many people from here going to him. not fussed bout traveling to Adelaide just want the best outcome. any suggestions would be greatly appreciately.

1 No one can tune CAPA 1s, you need a new box

2 270s you'll see easily with the injectors and your hi-flowing exhaust

3 with a cooler low 300s

It all depends on your v/springs though who knows at what level theyll give up.

Hope you haven't done those mods without a tune, might overboost with that free flowing of an exhaust, not sure how the other mods would affect it stock.

Injectors are good for early 300's so you're sorted on that front, and the cat removal will get you past your goal for sure. I agree get a good quality cooler before retune and approach 300!

wil lnot get 300 with those v/springs. 95% of the time they all limit bout 270rwkw. So you will be bout the same with the manual.

you WILL need a new CAPA x3 unit (or a x2). You WILL NOT be able to use the x1 to tune your car.

welcome and goodluck!!

I have f6 typhoon valve springs and they are happy with 350rwkw. between 2-3 hunsky from ford- if that! :spoton:

def get these done, with a flash 3 and good tune (read: go to heinrich). actuator is cheap as to buy and fit.

300+ here you come! :spoton:

there are people on here with 500+rwkw using a capa 1 box, they must have somehow had theres tuned? yeah I know that the valve springs will limit me, but 270 is all I'm after at the moment.

also I went to lmg performance and they put a tune of my box to rescale the injectors so I can drive it round till I get it tuned. so is it only adelaide tuners that can't tune them.

CAPA 1's have been disabled by the manufacturer. Massive stink over it, they are bricks as far as loading NEW cars/tunes into them goes. This is only once the tuner uses up all of their 'burns' and has to connect to the net to refresh them (at which point the XCAL1 ability is removed from the tuning computer).

Perhaps a very old version of the tuning software was used to just get you by, I've heard that can be done. The versions that don't require the tuner to plug in the USB dongle (anti piracy device).

well I've done the ring around and it is half the price to get it all done in adelaide than at warnertown, on that note I would definately recommend bruce, top bloke good service and not out for the money unlike others. unfortunately I have decided that I won't be doing the valve springs due to the high cost and the fact I need to buy a house so I have settled that bruce is just gonna tune it for me. debating whether to put a cooler on it though, sort of humming and haring about it though, not sure if its gonna be worth it or not. if I decide to do it later on will it make a difference to my tune or not really.
