Irying to set the record straight people keep goin on about ex cop cars. No they are not tuned just have heavy duty springs.

They are serviced every 5000 kms. Im now on my 7th cop car from the vh Late model camira vk vl v8 and vl turbo ba and now my bf mk2 xr6t.

Bought with 60thou kms done 20thou since buying, No probs.

It has tune injectors turbo back exhaust intake 14psi getting 313rwks. The car has not failed me or any of my ex cop cars.

I would rather buy from cops as the car is standard. People on here say there thrashed and driving hard so are most of the cars on here that people drive.

Whats the difference from buying from cops or from a 25 year old who spent money doin there car up to go fast?

You might get your point across a little better if you used punctuation and grammer because that was so hard to read.

I do agree thou, turbo cars are thrasted, no matter who you buy them from.

I agree , If I was to buy second hand I would prefer a properly run in stocker ( not nancy boyed) than a second hand car that had even been mildly modded .

Why mod if you are not going to step into it

Main difference is cop cars get repeatedly thrashed by different drivers. At the end of the day you can get a lemon no matter how careful you are with preinspections etc. I dont see a positive or negative with going for ex govt stuff.

Yeah we have had cop cars over the years from xf falcons to vn v8 commodores and mechanically they have been very strong and I currently have a BF Mark II XR6T like all cars they have their small problems etc...but over all they are just as reliable as any other car (maybe even more so as they need to be kept in tip top mechanical condition)... unless you get one that was totally abused and even these cars you can tell straight away from the look of them that they have been abused and even then they end up going for a rediculously cheap price and still with warranty... from first hand exprience I would buy an chaser... in a bunch of 10 chasers you will get an average of about 2 or 3 that will be in very good condition and hence very good value for money...I will definately be buying an FG EX chaser when they hit the auctions...

is this national 'no comma or fullstop day'? :dontknow:

fortunately, unlike old cars, most new cars are over-engineered and are more likely than ever able to withstand some punishment from being thrashed.

of course, that doesnt apply to cars already modded to near the limit of what the mechanics can handle.

+1 for a stocker with full service history.... :beerchug:

Sorry fordriver1, I was trying to write my post quickly and totally neglected my grammar in the process.

Never the less, I agree with your comment as I also believe most cars have a safe buffer engineered into them when in stock standard form.

xcopbf for the vast majority you are incorrect if referring to NSW cars

There is NO suspension mods. NO tune ECU mods. Nothing at all. THEY ARE STANDARD

The ONLY thing NSW current Xr6T's get is the 4 pot brembos as if they were off the F6 and they also pick up the BAmkII series Typhoon rims to accommodate the brembos

The commonwhores are just the SS with the AFM bullsh*t again NO mods at all

They are serviced every 10k in NSW

Now I doubt ford and Expensive Daewoo would build specific specs of cars for each and every state. It wouldnt be worth the coin to them.

And as for thrashing them.. Yep it does happen and would be no difference to a young bloke. What the bad part is when they sit on an RBT line for 1 to 2 hours idling away. Bore glazing anyone???
