After taking my partner julie and her daughter to willow bank drags last night they are hooked.

Now I am allowed to build us a family drag car for us all to have some fun with.

I already have a spare car so now it is time to work out what to do to make it go abit faster.

We have a ea fairmont sedan that we got cheap I was going to do up and sell now keeping.

I was thinking turboing it.

I will do the work myself and get it tuned of cause.

All we want is say 11 sec car so no roll cage?

Just wondering if anyone has an idea where to get a basic turbo kit for an ea-ef six cylinder.

I like the idea of the ea inlet manifold as it is down low so less intake piping reqiured and all ready is a plenium type manifold.

The ea is now as heavy as a ba so what power would I need to get in the 11 sec area.

It is an auto so going with that of cause will reqiure an upgrade to handle the power.

A mate of mine is selling his red ea turbo, and it would probably be cheaper to buy this than to build a new car, car comes with a built c10 3 speed auto...6k worth with convertor, built motor, and just had full respray, this would certainly run a 11 easily, and is built to last, il have to check back the price I think it was 12k. Car is engineered and registered with a turbo.

His just built a house so he needs $$ to finish off driveway etc.

thanks spiro I will give you a call haha dont need drive shafts with an ea haha.

thanks xr6t_ute but my step daughter and I want to build it ourselves so we will use the one we have and start at basic stuff and make it faster as we go to add to the fun of it.

And that way my partner and step daughter can learn to drive it in stages and we all have the fun of it as it gets to the times we want.

that way we can all say we can do 11's in it haha.

+1 for snort, although he can be pretty slow getting parts out to you. But the basic kit running 8 psi doesnt need to tuned, so you can fit it up yourself, throw in a fuel pump and get an exhaust made and that should see mid 12s.

thanks for that I will look into it.

we plan to start with no mods to give each of us a base time. haha

Then myself and my step daughter are going to do mods as we go.

First will be turbo kit with turbo big enough to get where we went to go so we dont have to buy a nother one.

than we will go from there including rebiulding motor.

PS my step daughter is just getting her licence so it will be a way for her to have fun and not do it on the road.
