Hi guys.

Bought one of the fordkits front bars off ebay. I know fibreglass bars have been known to not fit up quite right however I've spoken to various people and most people I speak to say the fordkits one is the best of the worst so to speak lol.

One thing I find really silly about this front bar is the fog light inserts. They don't have any clips to clip them on or anything so it looks like they have to be grafted/glued onto the bar with the foglight underneigth them. So in the event I have a stone crack a foglight, it needs to be pulled to bits and re-glued. Is my kit missing something? Surely this isn't how they all are?

The foglight cover on my kit is pretty average, doesnt fit up even remotely close. Here's a couple pictures of the gaps...

The above pics show the gaps if each side is put on flush. The only way I can see viable to make it fit is to sand the hell out of the back of the covers to make it fit better. :surrenderwave:

I took the bar down to my spray painter yesturday for him to check it out before my car gets a few panels sorted out next week. One thing he picked up on which I'd totally missed was this alignment...

The camera angle isn't quite right to show it, but the middle part of the headlight bump doesnt sit flat so it's inevitably going to leave a nice fat gap.

Another thing is the way it connects to the corner panels... Do I need to goto ford to get the little groove doohicky that factory bars have and have grafted to this bar?

The fordkits mob seem to have sold alot of these units and surely people out there have worked around (as much as possible) all these imperfections. Just after a bit of feedback as to how/what people have done. My car's getting painted next week and at this stage if I can't figure out how to go about tackling this, I'll most probably scrap this front bar.

Cheers,

Jarrod.

That sux mate, seems like allot of stuff ups there. Greeny and San both had pretty good looking fake front bars from memory, maybe see if you can get in touch with them.

looks a bit dodge, the fog surrounds should already be fixed in or be able to get fixed in easily without you having to glue them in. I got mine through blits bodykits on the gold coast and couldn't fault it. Don't have any gaps on the bumper anywhere, it doesn't sit properly under one headlight but the stock bar had the same problem so dont know whats going on there but it doesn't seem to be the bumper. Panel beater said its one of the best fibreglass bars hes done and also know of others having great products from blits. Definitely get in contact with the guy you got it from if you're not happy

Ive been selling the Blits kits for a while now and am yet to have any negative feedback from purchase's.

There certainly does seem to be too many issues with that bar Jman. I'd try and seek a refund if it's possible. The fog light surrounds are way off being able to fit flush and nice.

Heres mine.

Bought it off ebay.. Had to use black hi-poxy glue I think its called to stick the fog light covers to the bar.

I did most of the prep work, lined it up, drilled the holes and everything..

My headlights didnt line up either but you need to look at it from the top and the side corners .. if it lines up on the arch, then that's lined up..

I even went to the next step and installed HID's into the foggies..

If your gunna do this, take your time. if you dont find sombody who does an awesome job with body filler and fiberglass work, then your paint wont match and it will sink.. meaning you will see more imperfections as it goes along..

where bouts u live champ?
