I reckon 1 and a 1/2 size carparks (width wise) with pipe barriers at 500mm high both sides full length of each carpark are the go. I'd happily pay $2 to use it. Executive car parks!

ye I always see nice mercs an stuff down near my old house just parked in the middle of 2 bays so no 1 would hit there car.. good idea an ialways make sure I park more away from other cars or next to a nice car so they will try not to hit mine also bcause they dont want to hit there car!

yeah it sucks! if I could park away from the rat race of a morning and afternoon I would. but I need access to my tools and equipment. I am seriously looking into getting a work ute and having the T as a weekender. I hate always worrying about who is round my ute.

its also bad that alot of people have had simular experiances. no wonder so many people have weekender cars and dunger everyday cars.

I will be looking for a gold coloured car tomorrow dropping off the kids, will take a photo of the damage to it and the number plate. I have photos of my ute and how far from the gutter I was parked etc. but then what do I do?? police? who knows. but I think the person will take a different route to school tomorrow.

it is a good idea to park in the middle of 2 parking spots but how is that different? people just say "who does this *beep* think he is *gets out key*"

I had someone hit my old fairmont in my old work car park (pub)

I came out and found a note from a good Samaritan saying some lady hit my car.. here are her plates, make, model, description, time, how it happened and the marks on her car and a phone number to call them to be a witness... took it to the cop shop at 10pm at night,

the cop shop got me her name and number and address and then rang her to confront her about it...

apparently she worked for a car dealership and had borrowed their car.. she said she was coming back later to leave her details because she didnt have a pen haha yeah right..

the dealership repainted my bumper, brand new headlight... thank god for that bloke that got her details... I woulda been out 300+

Your insurance company will take care of it bud, that's what you pay them for. Give them as much evidence as possible and just be really nice to them when you lodge a claim. You can always cancel the claim if they cant find the person at fault so you wont lose and bonuses.

I had a doppy bitch chip the paint on the ute whilst I was at work at a warehouse I ran. I caught her on camera after I noticed the damage. Went back through my days paperwork to match invoices with customers who were at the shed at the time. The footage was by no means clear cut and could not really tell make or model or even plates, but the invoice docs and computer time stamps placed her there at the time on the cameras. Luckily she was spooked enough to give me her plates and insurance company for me to lodge a claim with my insurers. Aami came through and even though she did not end up admitting liability the claim was successful with the evidence I came up with.

If you find the car make sure you get pics of any paint left their vehicle. Would be even better if you could line your ute up next to theirs for a picture and get you apprentice to say he saw the plates and that's how you tracked them down.

Bit late on the scene, but yeah tell me about it, I just bought my xr6t & 2nd day the mrs came home in it & I said what happened to the rear drivers door & she said what?

There was & still is a 1 inch wide & almost as deep dent right in the middle & only mark on it & the tell tale white paint left on it & the xr6t is electric blue.

She vaguely remembered a white 4wd beside at the shops she stopped at for 5 mins when she came back(not when she parked!), but it's not worth the claim as it cost's as much for claim as it does for repair!

I work for a supermarket and park my car in the carpark everyday - miles from the door. I was proud that after 3 years my car was still clean, not even a stonechip. I went to another supermarket carpark, as usual parked right at the back of the carpark, did my thing and returned 10 minutes later to find a door crease on my drivers door and no car parked beside me!

I was shattered and pissed that the person not only didn't bother leaving a note BUT they also moved!!! I wouldn't have bothered getting the person to pay for the damage, as it was minimal, but a note to say "I'm sorry, I've hit your car" would've been appreciated.

But all the courtesy on the roads has gone, dead and buried. My dad was a fleet salesman for Courtney & Patterson for years and was on the road a lot. During the school holidays I used to go to work with him all the time. I learnt a lot back then as to what was expected, like acknowledging another driver if they stopped behind a parked car to let you go. Now, even the older drivers don't do this and I find it really rude. I even notice people speed up just to get around the car before you get to them, forcing you to brake or stop.

Im with everyone here when I say that I hate the f'ers you do this to your car and never leave a note, but sorry Rusty XR6T while I do agree with how you felt but what you did was criminal and not much better than the person who hit the car in the first place, Just my opinion.I would have stopped at pulling off the tire valves, that would have pissed them off enough.

Being a work car I have to use mine every day. And park it in shopping centers. I have two dings in the doors now and yesterday I got back after no moore than five minutes in a shop and some dropkick hit my car in the bumper with his bull bar by the looks. No note, no one saw anything.

And yep not bad enough to claim. but enough to sh*t me to tears. bloody low lifes.
