With your power a semi won't cut it, doubt a set of MT'S will either :dontknow:

yeah I realise that but I dont want to go to a full slick with front runners and stuff until I get an auto and 9 inch. car is now my daily driver so I cant really afford to wreck anything. I just think a semi slick is goin to put up more of a fight than the year old maxxis things I got on there now. also my brother is takin his torana down and it has slicks and front runners and I dont want him beating me otherwise il never live it down.

what is the go with the MTs I assume you mean mickey thomsons. are they a radial? how do they handle with the normal road tyres I have on the front. I think at this stage I am gunna go with the ku36s.

Go the MT's buddy, 275/40/17 as stated and will fit on standard xr rims. Will be fine with normal road tyres up front, the next step after these is full slicks. How much power do you have?

You need the widest tyre you can fit, if your after a tyre for daily use and track, MTs arnt too good, soft sidewalls that roll bad on corners, but awesome in a straight line/ launch.

If you run a proper semi-slick (circuit) you really need to run them on the front too, due to the difference in handling... you can get away with them just on the rear, for street use, just dont push hard corners.
