Kosti Member 34 Member For: 14y 4m 7d Posted 13/09/10 07:17 AM Author Share Posted 13/09/10 07:17 AM After a few months of battling with Fords Customer Service and the Auction I bought the TTG, the auction place has agreed to fix the above items..- Front Diff mounts (both) stuffed - These have been replaced by the dealership in Sydney and I asked to keep the stuffed ones, but they came in a box marked with rear bushes, are the front and rear the some? [ I will take a picture tonight ]- Oil leak @ steering pump as alternator is soaked with it - Said to be the power steering high pressure hose, apparently on back order- Minor rust around the front tow hook - Covered under the 5 year corrosion so I will wait to do this later in the year- Fan Belt idler pulley noisey - Idler pulley replaced by the dealer - seems to be a common problem, again I kept the stuffed one, just curious if its worth getting it repacked as kept as a spare?- Brake light switch sticking, causing crusie control to dis-engage - Dealer fixed this as it only needed adjustment, no charge, geez thanks... - Minor rust under brake reservior - Covered under the 5 year corrosion so I will wait to do this later in the year- Gearbox has oil stain under pan, suspect a slight leak - Its due to the wiring sleeve seal or "o" ring, pan needs to be dropped in order to replace, the dealership says that they re-use the oil they take out, now I thought his was a cheap way out, shouldnt the oil be replaced?Anyways, this is the update of my TTGCheersKosti

The oil is also very expensive, from memory it would cost about $400 in ford prices ($220 from another source). It may be worthwhile to ask Ford for a price and get them to replace it to play it safe.We have had most of the problems you have. Front balljoints, F/R diff bushes, oil filter on turbo and rust in the tailgate. When driving it all is forgotten as they are a beast.
Kosti Member 34 Member For: 14y 4m 7d Posted 14/09/10 11:16 AM Author Share Posted 14/09/10 11:16 AM Indeed, its taken nearly 2 months to get someone to fix my issues and after all the emails, phone calls and visits the Auction of where I bought this from has agreed to fix the main issues.it's a great AWD to drive it, when the wife gives it to me, but with these issues, I'm suprised the dealers still play dumb and pretend they don't know about these problems.I'm now waiting on FORD to get the parts in so I can get the rest of the stuff completed, but I am going to push for a full transmission flush as it would be a wise move since we plan on keeping this TTG for a few years and looking to tow a boat in the near future.CheersKosti
Kosti Member 34 Member For: 14y 4m 7d Posted 23/09/10 11:16 AM Author Share Posted 23/09/10 11:16 AM (edited) For those interested, I finally got a call from Ford stating parts are ready and to bring it in. whhoooohhooo, once this is done that's the end of the freebies and I will be glad to see the last of that dealership!High Pressure Power Steering Hose to be replaced and Transmission wiring sleeve to be replaced - my only concern here is the bastards said they capture the oil and re-use it, that's just ghey!Their service has been down the toilet the whole way and if they have done the job to start with there wouldn't be all these issues.Im sure they will be glad to see the last of me too :D Edited 23/09/10 11:18 AM by Kosti

I wouldnt be surprised if they tried to save the P/S fluid as well... ha ha ha Any warranty rectification at no cost to you is a damn good thing, so its now time for some injectors, a catalyst and a tune, assuming a de-bung is done. Go Kosti!! Yee haa... or at least Go Kosti's wife..

Kosti Member 34 Member For: 14y 4m 7d Posted 26/07/11 07:30 AM Author Share Posted 26/07/11 07:30 AM Bit of a late update on my TTG for those interestedIts been months since I last visited these forums - a lot of threads I need to readAnyways, as for my huge rust in the rear tail gate due to the fact that the rubbers had shrunk, this had to be the cause of the rust rightWell I finally got Frauds Customer Service to pull there finger out and months and some harsh negotiations, Fraud finally got it repaired last week with new rubbers as I kept pushing them to replace em..Mind u they thought they were doing me a favour because the car was out of warranty, huh dumb arses, didn't even know about the 5 yr corrosion warranty and on top of that the dealer reckoned it wasn't a common problems - ******* the lot of em - hate with a passionSo now with this bloody rain and new rubbers, the tail gate STILL HAD WATER COME IN.....WTF, something is definitely wrong fork me - now to try and figure out where it's coming from and how it's getting in with new seals!Arrggghhh now to take it back this week for them to find the cause! The rear brake light has cracked out around where it has been mounted, the rear has paint missing from where the tailgate and window rubs, so I'll be sticking it to them about that too. The console around the gear lever has cracked at the mounting point, the idler puller is squeeling like a bitch as well. So that my start, My only concer is that they will not cover any damage to the ball joints or bushes, and I've fitted 20 inch wheels to it... can anyone confirm or deny this for me? George66 Member 7 Member For: 15y 11m 2d Posted 18/08/11 12:01 AM Share Posted 18/08/11 12:01 AM I had my front diff bushes changed for free by ford as they were stuffed and it was out of warrantee about 2 weeks. I asked the guy at Ford to check the Front Ball Joints and he said would change them as it was a Factory recall. I turned up at the dealership with 20 inch wheels on and they fixed it. No questions asked. I actually asked them over the phone if big wheels had anything to do with it and they said no.
