Guys,

Thanks again...

Well we are home. The house in in one piece after you guys left and the neibours do have a funny look on their faces!!!... (gee thanks!)

We had a top time.

Now for the stats...

19,300km travelled on trip. (the XR now has 38,500 k's on it)

It took 265.45 hours driving time.

We passed trough every state apart from Tasy. (cant call Canberra a state!)

Damage to car -

One bent alloy wheel -my fault! (looking to get fixed for around $150 then use as a spare.)

A few small stone chips but you get that (all on the bonett and none on the front bumper - Much happier with the paint on the BA bumper over the AUII one)

Noticed a few scraches on the bumper next to the headlight (from the headlight protectors moving around - Will take pic to show what I mean - Again a bit of touch up paint will fix that.

A few scratches from torshen bar pins on tow bar on rear bumper from doing hard / tight turns - Again a bit of touch up paint will fix.

Overall the BA XR6 Turbo did a top job. The wife commented that it tows / pulls / handles sooo much better than the AUII (with IRS). The few minor issues above are all normal running issues that can be expected....

And now for the big clean up. I still have Pilbrra red dust in the door jams and under the guards and scuff marks on the black plastics in the front foot wells... All to be cleaned. I rekon it will take me a day or so...

I was thinking of writing a letter to Uncle Geoff or Wheels / Motor re my experiences of the big lap in the Turbo... Not sure if they would print it... May give it a go in the next week or 2..

It is soo hard to put into words how totaly impressed I am with this car and it ability.... A very well spent $45k in my book...

I will post a few more pics in a few days and then we can close this puppy!!!

Thanks for your support!

Regards

Brendan...

Did anyone pick up a half-empty packet of "ribbed for her pleasure" condoms before we left Brendan's house ... can't find them anywhere and the last place I remember having them was in the laundry ... no, kitchen ... or ... master bedroom?

... anybody? :censored:

I did eventually find the bong and the velcrow gloves.

Brendan, a car bra might have stopped those chips you mentioned on your bonnet as they have two pieces of 'padding' that sit about an inch high across about 2/3rds of the bonnet. You also wouldn't have got those scratches from your headlight protectors as you can't use them with the bra on....

Great to see you got her home in one piece and enjoyed the trip.

I'll be in the Pilbara again next week, but enjoy Exmouth before it gets really hot.

... and I'll be back in the Pilbara (after a 2 year absence) next week too!

Hehe, a different week though. Looking forward to it, will have a new digital camera and can't wait. Work's funding it too....

Brendan,

Trust me, you won't get rid of the red Pilbara dust ;) Don't even bother trying.
