Here's an excellent example of why matching alloy wheels should be standard. Surely it would not add anything to the price of the car doing so due to the buying power that Ford would have on such parts.

Glad to hear everything's ship-shape again though bdennis. It's no fun at all to have such problems so distant from home. Although it's even less fun if it's just you and the road!

Safe motoring, bdennis.

Guys,

Thanks for the kind words...

DavoWA - Thanks for the phone numbers I may look them up when I get down there.!

The spare wheel is a 16" wheel with a 65 series tyre on it so the over all circumfrance is the same between the steel / alloy! It certainly makes the $480 cost for the alloy spare seem good value.. Although in the old AUII I never had this sort of problem but did travel similar K's..

We are now in Broome.

Hvae been to Kununurra, Lake Argyle, Bungle Bungles, Geiki Gorge, Derby, Horizontral falls (fantastic!! / Awsome! - A must do!), Then on to Broome for a week. Have covered around 9000km this far. As per usual the Turbo is "THE" car to use for towing. Soooo smooth, Soooo much power. Just awsome... Sometimes I do wish it was all paw 4 wheel drive so I can get into some of the harder places but Oh well!!.. Life goes on. Maybee the Territory will be released in a Turbo 6 FPV version just for that reason!...

Talk to you all soon!

Here is a pic of the machine at Derby Air port waiting to go to the Horizontal falls...

Guys,

Well its time for another update..

I think the last one was from Broome.

We have now been to Port Hedland, Dampier, Tom Price (Karajini Nat Park.. Very nice!!!) and have now just arrived in Exmouth... Ready for some snorkeling!!!...

I must say the Pilbra region is just fantastic...

The XR has been great with no issues. It just needs a real good wash after the 100k of dirt roads out to the National Park from Tom price and back a few times...

Anyway..

Here are a few pics for ya..
