I'm looking at changing the gearbox oil in my FG manual, after about 40k - while it's a lot better to use now that it's been run in a bit, it's still fairly arkward when cold, to the point of graunching into 2nd fairly consistently.

Anyone found an oil that's worked well for them? Apparently Transmax was the go with the T56, is that still applicable to the TR6060?

Cheers.

I used Penrite SIN. Was abit cheaper than Transmax Z and ive been happy with it. Although the box is a bit harsh for the first few changes in the morning. Might need a top up.

The Penrite 75W/80 is recommended by penrite. I was speaking to a tranny specialist today and he told me that the SIN penrite was not the way to go. He also recommend the 75W/80 instead of the synthetic 70W/75, as he said that it will provide for smoother shifts, and was better for the syncros. Cheers

Originally Dex III is the oil supplied with these transmissions. We have found that Transmax Z is the best oil for these transmissions. We have tried all the other oil on the market, and this was our conclusion. :)
