It probably depends on how much you spend, a cheap unit will only read generic OBD2 codes, not manufacturer specific codes, a workshop style reader will read all codes, but cost upwards of $12000

Re

" Does anyone know what the obd2 system on the xr6t's can read. I'm hoping it can read turbo boost in particular. "

One of the Units I got is from here: MaxiDiag US703 GM/Expensive Daewoo Ford OBD2 Scanner Code Reader - eBay Other, Tools, Car Parts, Accessories, Cars, Bikes, Boats. (end time 11-Aug-10 21:36:00 AEST)

On my 2005 BA MKII Turbo it will read and show Engine Temp, Intake Manifold Air Temp, O2 out- put V and Timing. I don't think it will show Boost. I would have to check tomorrow if it does.

Well I don't think the scanner itself will be an issues.

I'll be using software designed to be used with an iPhone and a universal obd2 scanner.

The software itself can read boost psi, and can be configured for all sorts of uses. A bit of a whizz idea this thing.

The only thing I'm not sure of is if the xr6t port actually can capture boost. It's probably an easy answer for a tuner.

I have a boost gauge so I haven't really looked in that, but I'm 99% sure it does. I only use it for inlet air temp, volts, water temp. I know it will show spark advance and will show true AFR (I have an LC-1 wideband as well).
