I haven't driven an FG F6 but if it's anything like my old BA

An FG F6 aint nothing like an old BA! They are worlds apart.

Ok so how come they left the 35/40 on the F6? Why would they want the Premium Model to have less drive-ability, safety and longevity? We know the smaller turbo is more then capable for 310 at the fly why not have it on the F6 too, to get all the other benifits?

Simple - prodrive couldn't get the calibration right in time on the samller turbo, and so they had to bail at the last minute and go with the known combination. Or at least that's what I've heard around the traps.

What do you mean by calibration?

Sounds a bit far fetched, I'd say it's more feasible that they left the bigger turbo on the F6 to differentiate between it and the lower models.

Surely all these experts could put together a tune for a car that shares so much powertrain and transmission traits as that of the lower models that Ford were in fact able to tune.

But anyway where gettin off topic.

Never underestimate the technicalities...for that reason the FPVs were without stability control for a number of years just because they couldn't be arsed/didn't have time to calibrate it for the bigger brakes!

There is a considerable difference in response between the turbo sizes from a standing start - it's only once you get in to licence-losing territory the bigger turbo is beneficial IMHO.

you would also think that a company like Ford could produce a car that doesnt break tail shafts, kill diff bushes, have working ipod modules, or have working air con modules straight from its release, yet here we are 2 years on from the FG release and are constantly taking our cars back for warranty repairs for stuff they couldnt get right from when it was released.

Anyway :threadjacked: back to the topic, the cooler does look cheap and nasty but if it does the job for a stocker than so be it, not sure what the big deal is, most of us mod the car anyway and one of the first port of calls is an after market cooler.

Lol, true.

And I thought these plastic coolers were worse, that's why everyone was getting upset.
