Saw what appeared to be a 2010 xr6T today and at first glance it appeared that it had an after market cooler. On a closer look it would appear that ford are now using a slightly different cooler WITH PLASTIC END TANKS.

Bunna buddy old pal is this true.

It was definitely a stock t

Lol, hope not.

Actually who cares really, the stock cooler doesn't usually last long anyway.

I've got a mate with a 10/10 built xrt and he's noticed that the I/c has plastic tankends and a different cat. It only ran up 22-rwkw, has anyone seen this before?

Yeah all the late FG xrt's have them. I actually asked one of Ford Reps at the Ford stand at the Sydney Motor show why they made the change and he had no idea why. He was going to ask one of the senior guys but never did!

What was really funny was the his immeadiate response to me when I asked him was "maybe it's for weight" :ermm:

I have the exact same build and mine has plastic end tanks, not sure about the cat, but it does look like it has some shielding or something or other around it. IC and cat are going in the bin as soon as I get my stuff from Rapid.

Correct - probably just a cost / budgeting thing...

If your mate is really particular, he can replace the cooler with an earlier version metal end tank one.

If he is anything like you though John, get him onto the Plazmaman / Process West / RAP1D FG kits!!!!!!!!!
