20pounds Member 180 Member For: 16y 3m 29d Gender: Male Posted 22/07/10 11:10 AM Share Posted 22/07/10 11:10 AM I bought a set of rda front rotors off ebay (not sure where they are made) and put bendix cts pads... the things warped within 500ks of not hard braking... I took my car to a mate who machined em while I was watchin and I couldnt beleive how much we had to take off to get em flat again... they have been ok so far bout 5000ks on em but no hard braking yet as I think they will warp as soon as I get em real hot... I wont buy them again... as for the origianal ford rotors that were on it they were excelent.. I had brake fade and smoke comin off the front wheels from hammering the brakes every minute for 10 or 15 minutes in a row from high speed and never got warped rotors... as they say YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!!! I heard the ceramic ones caused warping on slotted rotors so changed to the QFM pads same time I fitted the 4000's.Still got the squeal on the brakes (not so bad with this combo) but no uneven-ness so far. Have pulled up plenty of times with them glowing at the bottom of a hill with smoke billowing from them and havn't warpped them yet and they don't shudder. Totally useless if you've got some heat in them and are needing to pull up hard at over 150kmh as they're only good for one stop, but for pulling up hard on the street from around the 100kmh mark they're awesome. I took my mazda 121 thrasher to bob janes for a balance and alignment - and out came the trusty rattle gun with a normal deep socket. as an ex-mechanic I always use a torque wrench or a "bendy bar" thingy which goes on the rattle gun to limit the torque ($$$ from the snap-on man). also, make sure the threads of the studs have some anti-seize or at lease some grease on them so you can get the correct tension.just my 2 cents... kb1198 Member 4 Member For: 16y 6m 2d Posted 31/08/10 01:34 PM Share Posted 31/08/10 01:34 PM HiI need to replace my stock rotor and front and rear brake pads. I own a ford xr6t 2006 bf in Brunei (south east Asia) can you please quote the dba 4000 and suitable pad and air freight cost to Brunei .ThanksPhilip wJohn, you can purchase through the online store, but as with all my products, I offer specials to forum members.I was 99% sure all of the RDA range was manufactured overseas. From what ive been told, the bendix range can be too hard of a compound to work well with the DBA range. Ive been advised that a Ferodo DS is the preferred option. We can deliver to your door within 48hours of confirming payment.Unless you really want the look of a cross drilled rotor under your calipers, I'd advise to opt for the slotted 4000 rotor. Ill have stopped before you guys have yours even start to bite...Cross Drilled - IMO way to go... no cracking and as a few would know I'm not shy to use the brakes!I would have sent the bastards back if they warped (within a reasonable time frame and use)...Simple!Hooked Arjey up as well - XS's and he loves them... His running the Bendix CT pads and nothing but all smiles so far...
