Rba Vs Dba

If you 'warped' a set of DBA high end discs, may I sugget you consider calling DBA to let them know?

There are two possibilities,

1 - DBA had a serious quality lapse and therefore you have a warranty claim.

2 - You had irregular pad transfer which can do a great job of appearing as 'warped discs'.

Regards,

aa

Don't quote me, but I remember someone telling me there are dba's made in Australia and ones made in China. So you want the Australian ones. I think the dba 4000 slotted series are all Australian made.

I run dba 4000 slotted on all 4 corners and don't have brake shudder anymore. I use them with Race Brakes RB24 pads.

Cost me just under $500 to install the front set and another $500 to install the rear set. That included dba 4000 slotted rotors and RB24 pads. Installed at Race Brakes in Yarraville VIC.

it says there $500 on that site :S

For the pair yeah?

Using the dropdowns I see under the XR6T range: BFXR6T front pair for $540.

You get what you pay for in general so watch out! Am using slotted 4000's myself and enjoying them with QFM pads (HPX).

John, you can purchase through the online store, but as with all my products, I offer specials to forum members.

RDA is also Australian (rotors and discs Australia) but are an inferior product, hence the reason they are so cheap...

I was 99% sure all of the RDA range was manufactured overseas.

was running bendix ultimate's

From what ive been told, the bendix range can be too hard of a compound to work well with the DBA range. Ive been advised that a Ferodo DS is the preferred option.

I live in canberra, Where can I get cheaper dba's from :D

We can deliver to your door within 48hours of confirming payment.

Unless you really want the look of a cross drilled rotor under your calipers, I'd advise to opt for the slotted 4000 rotor.

RHR I am running the same set up you had... DBA 4000 and Ultimates and I keep getting brake shudder...so my expreince is the same as yours...

Auto One in Newtown Sydney quoted me $198 per rotor (DBA 4000 WIPER SLOT 322mm)

Ive got RDA's (cause I am cheap) and Cant fault them in over 10,000 kms - no shudder and I drive pretty hard. I wouldnt race with them - but then again I wouldnt race with crappy 322 twin psiton fronts and 302 single piston solid rears on a 1800kg car.

I spoke with a guy that used to work at bendix the other day and he said 99% of the time when people say their discs are warped they are wrong (put a dial caliper on them and they will be fine).

Its either pad material bonding to the disc (easitly most common and hard to eliminate even after machining) or variance in the disc metalogy.

As Hiro said, Pad matirial can be an issue (maybe "the issue"). Much easier to get variance in pad material than rotors.

If my rda turn to junk, l'll let every one know (but they are fine so far)

I have been using RDA golds on the front with EBC red stuff pads for the last 60,000km with no issues (street driving only). They definitely don't have the stopping power of the Brembo's but were less than half the price.

I am now about to change to a set of DBA4000xs through Hiro who has given me a great price + outstanding service so I can get a little closer to the original performance.
