I am doing more track days in my FGXR6T with stickier tyres, but am starting to hold onto the wheel too much for support in corners which isn't good.

Has anyone fitted race bucket seat to the FG?

Were rail mods required?

Your problem will be the side airbags and making the car unroadworthy.

Try putting a 4 point harness in as it will make more difference than a bucket

4point harness with no cage is very dangerous. In the event of a rollover, your head will have insufficient room to move & subsequently be crushed.

Tocchi has fitted a Bride Zeta with minimal modifications to seat/rail. If you buy a second rail, you can just bolt/unbolt each seat before & after your track day :roflmbo:

Any recommendations in Sydney for where I could buy one and get one fitted, street legal for the trip to and from the track.

Yes it would have to the engineered with the seat in, and all air bags opperating.

For seats go to Revolution, they have a huge range.

All airbags wont be operational, as there are airbags in the side of the seat.

heres a few photos that explain the install... sort of step by step.

need:

1x Pair of RPM seat rails (universal, low ones)

4x bolts, to suit the 4 nuts that hold the factory seat on

2x 1" length to add to rails to increase length to suit FG

4x 10mm (whatever bolt is) holes for bolts.

yeah it does look high, but im sitting a decent 5cm lower at least.... id have to double check though, I know its lower, just cant remember how much...

will let you know on friday night/ saturday morning when I put the seat in the ute for the speed event ... (XR8 broken so I gotta use the F6 haha)

ideally, I want to get fixed brackets made, as you get a little bit of flex with my setup.

its height adjustable on the sides
