Can anyone shed some light on the following? Not sure if this has been posted else where but if it has please direct.

1. Are wheel spacers legal in all states? some states? no states?

2. Can wheel spacers be used to change the stud patern of a vehicle?

3. What are the other options if any when it comes to changing the stud pattern?

Any help or a push in the right direction would be much appreciated

Cheers,

Matt

in qld wheel spacers are illegal.

As for stud pattern you would need to have complete new hubs made to do this.

Why do you need to change stud pattern.

Yes you can get spacers to change your PCD. For example, See Here

H&R do them to suit Nissans (5x114.3) so they can mount BMW (5x120) and Porsche (5x130) wheels. You really have to be mindful of offset when you do this. You may have to go custom made.

And I don't think they're legal in any state? I'm sure someone will confirm.

Looking at some different wheels, cant find anything I realy like that fit a ford... any ideas what a new set of hubs would be worth? have to be custom fitted I would assume. I want a set of dark (grey or black matte or satin) rims with a big offset (fill the rears of an FG) and need to clear bremobos, any suggestions welcome...

Thanks ExAreSix,

Ford pattern is 5 x 114.3 yeh? same as nissan.

Hopefully someone has some info on the legalities however like anything I guess it will need to be certified by an engineer.

Cheers,

Matt

Anything that will fit a skyline gtr has a wider offset... But you need to get it engineered if moving to an offset bigger than +26mm as you can't change your wheel track by more than 25mm...

hub spacers cannot be engineered in south australia. I had 20's engineered for my ef falcon, but they would not touch spacers...

I think you will find that spacers are illegal across Australia.

They are dangerous and are illegal for a reason.

I am sure you can find a wheel to suit that does not endanger your life.
